It's unfortunate that we're currently under COVID restrictions, but our hostess behind the window was so polite and helpful in letting us taste a few samples that we walked away with way more product than we'd intended to buy. One of the bottles was opened IMMEDIATELY upon arriving home, and was thoroughly enjoyed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Appreciated the (complimentary!) tasting with a very friendly staff member and did leave with purchases, but was surprised to arrive to the place practically shutdown due to their COVID protocols.
This place had been on our to-do list for a while, so we were superbly disappointed to find both the self-tour and seated patio closed. There is no clear update posted on their website apart from "tasting window" (only which is now explicitly understood as a literal window through which you can do tastings).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to taste the wine but upon entering the building the lady looked at us and exclaimed “go walk around the property”. I would recommend having more staff, or a better seating area for waiting. Came from Vancouver, unfortunately lady was too busy or stressed out treat us with proper customer service skills. You don’t tell people your busy so go for a walk? Very cold. We left.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well I must say that this was my first time trying mead. I had the assorted batch of dry and WOW! I really enjoyed all three taste testing and then a little extra lol. For being my first taste of this product I’ve decided that I really have missed out my entire tasting life. I am wondering why Mead has faded in popularity as this is one of the best drinks I’ve found yet. I want to thank you at Tugwell for giving me a great experience and will recommend everyone I know and even purchase without question for gifts to others I know. The difference in tastes between the 3 is amazing and goes well with the different foods. I will even plan for a visit when we return to Tofino for one of our holidays in the future. Thank you so much. Wine? What’s that? Spirits? Never heard of it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely recommend! I truly enjoyed the tasting, and the grounds are gorgeous even in late August. Recommendations were spot-on and we took home 3 bottles of the sweeter port/harvest wine type meads. The Vintage Sac was a great pairing with the Strawberry Lemonade crumble from Shirley Delicious too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wine tasting experience except with mead. A lovely setting with hives in the background. The mead itself varies quite a bit in taste. If you are in the area it's worth the stop.
