While I was there and after, I mingled with all kinds of inglorious hoodlums. As a result, I became very nonjudgmental. I’ll never forget one of my teachers told my classmates I was going on a “downward spiral”. Fortunately, I knew I was going in the right direction!

In those days, I went through many trials, tribulations, and predicaments. While in the detention centre, I had to fight a guy they called “Chief” and it felt emancipating, but it’s a good thing I had started working out before this fight.

During this same time, my inglorious hoodlum mates and I played foosball for push-ups and sit-ups because we had no money. It became my favourite pastime (and I never got good at foosball).

I met Travis the first time at world health when I had social anxiety. It took me a week of drive byes to enter a gym. From that point Travis inspired me to become healthy and fit. The thing I admire most about Travis, is his passion for health and wanting to help others. He is constantly researching and improving himself. I love that ! This is why I chose him as my trainer. If you want someone to educate, inspire, laugh, and hold you accountable then he is your trainer too!!!

Travis was my personal trainer for little less than four months, and from a personal experience I'd highly recommend training with him, he's very knowledgeable, caring and experienced and he'll teach you all you need to know. Also, he's a very nice person and has a good sense of humor so your sessions won't be boring and you'll make a friend with him and with other clients through the events he holds. Last summer was more fun thanks to this pro, and I was able to get closer than ever to my fitness goals(to a point that I've never thought I'd reach), and as soon as my time permits I'll be back to focus on those goals under his guidance.

I've been training with Travis for a few months now. One thing in particular that has stood out to me is that he genuinely cares; he is truly invested in helping assist his clients achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals. In addition to having been a personal trainer for many years, his longstanding career as an EMT has certainly benefited him well and enhanced his knowledge of the body, strains, and working with injury. His session exercises are specifically chosen to maximize results but if you need an alternative exercise or one to be modified he has the know-how. Whether you're a serious lifter or out-of-shape beginner, he has the knowledge, experience, and dedication to get you on the right path. I believe it's because of the above that he has come to build a small community of sorts amongst his clients. When I first started training with Travis, I was introduced to several other female clients and each one was not only inspirational in how far they've come in their fitness journeys, but they had also formed friendships with one another and train together often. Their invitations to train with them outside of my sessions helped to reduce my gym anxiety and support the building of confidence from which Travis helped me to re-establish. Lastly, Travis practices his own advice, and I think that's one of the best things any professional can do. He believes that fitness and health is a lifestyle, and doesn't end outside of the gym. Diet, sleep, life stresses, and work all contribute to one's overall physical (and mental) health. Travis encourages his clients to make themselves a priority and give their body and mind the self-care that is necessary in order to not only be healthy, but genuinely happy as well. I could not imagine a more wonderful trainer to have started my gym and fitness journey with. To anyone that is considering whether or not you should do this, my advice is to just go for it: you deserve to be the best version of yourself possible and to have a supportive, knowledgeable, and experienced professional alongside you in the process. That professional is Travis :)

Travis Wade uses a combination of education with training best practices. In my consultation he customized my plan to include zero injury practice meaning my routine is low-impact and safe. Even the smartest and strongest people use coaches to be the best version of themselves and he has become mine. His approach has helped me improve my mobility, understand the impact of how I move and what I put in my body. Travis has guided my diet in a way that has helped reduce inflammation to help manage my chronic pain. I've lost weight and begun strengthening my weakest muscles and even my skin, hair and nails are healthier. He sets you up for success, I highly recommend him.

When I had first met Travis I had never worked out in front of someone before but he put my mind at ease and quickly introduced me to the other clients. Besides being very knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition , he put me to work right away so we could make the most of my time there. But the best part of Travis Wade Fitness is that it felt like family. It kept me coming back every time! Can’t thank you enough for making me believe.

This is my first time ever in any gym,but Travis made me feel comfortable . He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work . I used to feel as if working out was a chore, I used to dread working out but with my experiences in Travis’s care and guidance working out now is not even remotely close to a chore instead it’s something which I look forward to. Working out has become something I enjoy. Travis is not only a good professional trainer but also a supportive person who has helped me not only in my endeavours in working out but also helped me in my personal life and my mental health. I been training with Travis and his team (Ashely and Tendayi )for the past 3 months. He has made a huge impact on the quality of my life and I cannot recommend him enough! I would highly recommend Travis Wade as your personal trainer. I am a certified personal trainer myself, and had over 10 years of experience in fitness with two master’s degrees in Science. After researching Travis’ medical background and his holistic way of training together with uncountable successful client stories, I decided to hire Travis as my Personal Trainer for my goals. Travis’ philosophy of human well-being, and professional knowledge in fitness and nutrition really stood out to me. As I have been hugely interested in human nutrition and Chinese Traditional Medicine, I am always skeptical when hearing people just randomly talking about β€œNutrition”. However, I am very impressed by Travis’ concepts of eating healthy and his emphasis on gut health rather than just feeding the numbers. Everything he talks about has research backups showing him very unbiased and strong willingness to learn. In addition, Travis always focuses training safely, proper setups before doing any movements, efficient warmups which are the areas that trainers tend to neglect but play vital roles in achieving goals without getting injured. He truly cares about his clients and he has the skills to develop plans that will truly help them. Travis’ interpersonal skills, his fitness knowledge and abilities and his diligent work ethic made him one of the best rated trainers in Edmonton.
