The most recent time I came to an appointment, Howard made me stand in the doorway and interrogated me about if I was one of the Queen’s students partying during lockdown (I’ve been isolated), which I guess was reasonable but at the time felt hostile. After this he told me he overbooked and said I could instead get it cut with his nephew in the back. Ive had it cut by Trevor once before and told him What I didn’t want. He proceeded to give me the exact same cut that I asked not to get anyway. Despite that lack of hospitality Howard actually gave me 2 of the best cuts I’ve had which is why I kept going back.
r	rhonda spicer on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going to this salon for 37 years, I was assigned to Howard my very first time and have stayed his client, although I have had the pleasure of both Jack & Bill cutting and styling my hair as well. All 3 do a fantastic job and make you feel welcome. Good conversation and good laughs at the same time and of course great haircuts and styles. I definitely recommend, need I say more!?
S	Steven Vandenbogaard on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall shop experience is cringy with old/sketchy styling and loud music playing such that you have to yell to talk to the barber. Trevor did a decent job on the sides but absolutely butchered the top of my head. This was after I had showed him a picture of what I wanted and began to explain further before being brushed aside with "Don't tell me how to do my job I've been cutting hair longer than you've been born". The barber swore about 30 times during the cut and dropped multiple combs on the dirty floor only to pick them up and put them in my hair. I've got a really simple hairstyle and for my first visit was very disappointed. I came in on a "good" day and had to wait over an hour. Be prepared to wait at least this long for your cut. Might try the salon side of this shop at a future date but right now I need to figure out a way to fix my hair.
J	Jesse Knight on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a very similar experience to Steven Vandenbogaard here: after showing Trevor a photo of what I wanted, the sides turned out well, but the top turned into a faux-hawk, very pointed -- not what I asked for. He also cut this little patch of hair about 1cm wide from my usual part line (which has now moved about 2cm up) to the middle of my hairline (see photo) -- I have no idea why! It looks ridiculous and I'm probably going to buzz my head to fix it because it's going to look even worse while it grows out. He also cut the longer part on top at the front into this weird triangle so that I have to put gel in it or it will look stupid. On top of that, he told me three separate stories where he was complaining about previous customers, and made a point to mention their race, and their ability to speak English.
E	Emma Dufton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I called and made an appointment a week ago, the man on the phone disclosed their COVID policy/need to be dbl vaccinated (which is totally fair). I showed up the day of my appointment with my proof of vaccination card, just to be told that because I didn’t know the vaccination status of EVERYONE in my class that I wouldn’t be able to get MY hair done. This was so unprofessional and disrespectful, I would have appreciated being told on the phone prior to coming all the way there if they all of a sudden decided to change the policy. I was then left with nowhere to go to get my hair done as everywhere was full that last minute on a Saturday. I get there are regulars that go here that may like this place, but I would never recommend this place to ANYONE that is looking for somewhere new or someone that is new to the city. They are rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate

D	Dania Dhaw on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I called the business, Howard answered the phone and was very rude. I am someone who’s very picky when it comes to my hair, but he came highly recommended. I had seen him a few years back for a hair cut but haven’t been back since. So when I called, I asked if he cuts curly hair (my hair then was more wavy), his answer was “Have you ever been here? Cause if you have, then you’d know we cut curly hair” in a very rude tone, then I asked him if I can book an appointment, he shut me down and said “You’d be considered a new client since you haven’t been here in years, call back after the pandemic” then hangs up. If he was nicer on the phone, I wouldn’t mind waiting after the pandemic for him to cut my hair, but that tone of voice and attitude he had with me on the phone, is not worth it. Very disrespectful. I don’t recommend him nor will I trust him with my hair.
