Disappointing. I signed my 6 year old son up for sailing camp here, the experience was more similar to a poorly run day camp. Very unorganized and unprofessional (rude) behaviour by the staff. On days when I saw other camps sailing I found my son in the muscle gym playing. When I asked the instructor why, he stated that is what the children wanted to do. I explained I paid for my son to learn a skill, I was not looking for child minding services. When I brought it up later with the manager he said they didn’t go out because of the weather (not true- this was not the reason the instructor gave AND other camps were on the lake). This happened multiple times throughout the week. I didn’t even bother sending him on the final day. It was a total waste of my time and money. I attempted to reach out to multiple members of the board to have this resolved and never received a response. We will never return nor would I ever recommend anyone send their child here. Very disappointed.

attention: 1 star reviewer Sailing depends on the right amount of wind. Sometimes there is too much and sometimes not enough. No wind is frustrating and infuriating for all sailors. Too much wind is a safety concern for the Sailing School Staff at the TSCC, which means there is occasionally no sailing, for fear of injury. This is the simple beauty of sailing .

My son has been taking sailing lessons at the TS&CC (at the summer camps) since he was 8 and progressed from the Wet Feet to CanSail programs. He's now 11, learning to race (CanSail 3) and has already put in his request for a month's sailing next summer. The instructors are all young, dynamic, patient and fun, and the kids love the sailing, swimming and games. I very much like that the club lacks the pretense of other sailing clubs that have a dress code--the focus here is on learning sailing skills in a fun setting, not on your outfit. Overall, a very cost-effective program with inexpensive before/after care plus you can sign up for a good quality hot lunch program (i.e. lasagne, fajitas, stuffed chicken etc all with salads ). On a cool and windy day and a dip in the lake, a hot lunch is particularly appreciated. Finally, the club is easily accessible by TTC (King Streetcar to Dowling Ave, then a 5' walk south) to a pedestrian light right in front of the club to cross the Lakeshore.

The sailing club is very relaxed, staff are nice and the people who hang out here are really there for the sailing whether it be dingy racing or keel boat cruising and racing. My wife and I enjoyed the course we took and she is having a blast racing regularly. We recommend the club!

I took adult sailing lessons (CANSAIL 1-3) this summer and loved every second of it. The club is run by great staff and the environment is very casual. They've also started running weekly fleet races and cruises, which are a lot of fun. As a fleet member, you get access to their dinghy boats (older 420s and new RS Visions). Fleet memberships are reasonably priced.

I took a keelboat course with TSCC. The course material was helpful, and we discovered many sailing maneuvers. There is a lot of practical experience, and I definitely feel more comfortable on a sailboat. However, our course materials were late by 1 week and no one made any effort to deliver them on time, which made the course and testing quite difficult. Several sailing concepts were not covered at all, and instructor was yelling (quite a bit) that we were supposed to know because we were skippers. Course information was very good, but customer experience is average at best.

Did Can 1/2 over the past 2 weekends. Great coaches, lots of fun. Definitely looking into membership and Can 3 for next season. First impression=very good vibes about the club & the people running it.
