About Thunder Bay Transit

Most Provincial Offence charges result in out-of-court payments. Citizens who are issued Provincial Offence tickets should read them carefully for a complete list of their payment and trial options.

Option 1, Plea of Guilty - Payment Out of Court

By choosing this option, you are stating that you are guilty and you must pay the total payable at the bottom of your ticket. You can pay the fine either in person or by mail at any Provincial Offences Court location in the Province of Ontario. Cheques should be made payable to the City of Thunder Bay.

Option 2, Plead Guilty with Submission as to Penalty

By choosing this option, which is also known as a "walk-in plea of guilty," you are stating that you are guilty but will provide submission as to penalty (ability to pay fine or more time to pay). You must attend the Provincial Offences Court office indicated on your ticket. Please bring your offence notice with you.

Option 3, Trial Option (Not guilty)

If you wish to plead not guilty you must sign your name under Option 3 on the back of the ticket as well as note any change to your address. You can either mail it or drop it off at the Provincial Offences Court office indicated on the back of your ticket (blue copy). You will receive a Notice of Trial in the mail in the next few weeks after we receive your request. If you do not receive a Notice of Trial in 3-4 weeks, contact the Provincial Offences Court office to confirm the status.

NOTE:  You have 15 days from receipt of an offence notice to exercise one of the above noted options.  If you fail to respond you will be deemed not to dispute the charge.

These bus drivers need to start paying attention more and stop flying by bus stops. I'm sick and tired of being late because they drove right by me and didn't stop. Even when I'm on the bus I see groups of people outside waiting and bus just drives on by and you can see them waving their arms and yelling. And you charge us over 70 bucks a month just to leave us behind. If this was a one time thing I wouldn't care, but this happens multiple times a month, every month. It's probably happened 20 times to me now and I've seen it happen to others way more than me. It's getting pathetic. It's time to rethink your bus schedules if they are skipping stops to make up for lost time.

Its been months since I took trsnsit. Earlier this week getting low on food, I had gift cards to use at Metro. I went to Metro on Arthur St. I walked to City Hall hoping I wouldn't miss my bus, not wanting to wait 40 minutes for thr next one. Luckily my bus was still waiting as others had or were leaving. The driver gave me a transfer when I asked. Having missed my connection I offered to pay again, the (same) driver as earlier, said "don't worry about it". Its little things like this.

The bus system is completely unreliable. I've missed my bus on a couple of occasions when the bus came too early or to late. Also, some of the bus drivers have no sense or urgency at all. It's like they don't know people have places to be and rely on the bus system to get there

Backwards policy. Either get rid of the mask mandate or force your drivers to wear them too. I'd prefer the former. Yeah yeah, just following orders - heard that back in the 1940s (spineless)

unable to contact them after hours. bus routes and times need work. need to run later especially. drivers are usually miserable s.o.b.s lack of a social media presence makes them seem distant from their riders and customers

Was waiting on the Neebing bus at the wrong spot. When then a different bus pull up I told the driver which I was waiting for. She waved me in and told me she would help me to catch-up to the Neebing bus by going with her, taken another and finally catching up to it. She got on her Radio and made it all work out for me. She even said, "if some of the other drivers give you a hard time just say, Barb said" lol. Thank you Barb you're an awesome Busdriver. It worked out perfectly. ??

I have been late for appointments and work shifts more times than I can count because of the drivers who are on the Mainline. Why are they constantly over 10 minutes early? I’ve been calling to complain for years. Something has got to give. I shouldn’t have to stand outside in the freezing cold 15 minutes early just to catch the bus. I am standing out there 10 minutes early and I’m still missing it so frequently I’ve been late for work a dozen times! PLEASE address this issue!

It's rare to see a bus on the time it's scheduled. They need to synchronize the times they post to how long it actually takes for buses to get places. The nextlift app is useless if you don't have wifi and don't know the stop # (aka planning ahead). With the winter weather you may have to get off in the middle of a snowbank as the stops are not cleared. So heaven help you if you have mobility issues or have kids. Most driver do what they can to help but they need support to. The bus routes can be very confusing to. I've watched an elderly man ask for directions to be refused because "The buses don't have radios anymore to help people". The system is out dated and needs an upgrade for everyone depending on it.
