HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Lac Des Mille Lacs is French and translates “Lake of a Thousand Lakes”. Jacques de Noyon, founder of the first Trans-Canada Canoe Route to the West, Paddled across Lac Des Mille Lacs during the spring of 1688. A historical plaque at Argon commemorates this achievement. In the 1870’s, a steamboat operated by G.A. McLaurin, fur trader and factor, towed logs and supplies across the lake to and from his sawmill at the Savanne River. Years later his steamboat sank just up river of the bridge on HWY 17 crossing the Savanne River. People are still losing lures on this sunken relic.

Scott and Carol are wonderful hosts that definitely take pride in what they do. They have created a unique wilderness cabin experience that is hands down one of the most well kept and cleanest I have ever seen.
Based on Cushing lake at the top of Lac des Mille Lacs, this location is a beautiful and perfect launching pad to explore some of Ontario’s best fresh water fishing. This place is also home to world class moose, bear and small game hunting.
Whether you are looking for a peaceful remote getaway or a perfect hunting or fishing location for your holiday, this is hands down best of the best. An absolute gem!!
