Nice and easy hike from Cypress ski resort parking. Couldn't see any views because of dense fog but the hike and lakes on the way are beautiful.

One of my favourite hikes to do locally. I just love the entire experience. I would say it’s an intermediate hike but we found navigating our way up there the first time a little confusing. You begin at the base of Cypress Mountain up a steep gravel road. The gravel road goes on for about 15-20 minutes and is quite the cardio experience to get you nice and warmed up. Even on the ugly gravel trail, I would suggest taking some moments to turn around and check out your surroundings. You find an ever changing landscape if you take time and enjoy it. Once you’ve survived that first part it gets much easier. From one moment where you are feeling totally small amongst the vast forest to the next where you encounter cute little lakes and sitting areas you will never get bored. Eventually you will summit to a lovely area and think it’s totally an amazing view but this isn’t the Eagle Bluffs. You are about 2/3 of the way there by then. After you’ve enjoyed your first view, you can veer to the left and climb down into another large forest and then just when you think you’re lost, you will come upon the most amazing view. You can literally see everything from here and pictures to not do it any justice. Plan to stay a while because you won’t want to leave. There is plenty of room to sit and enjoy.

Amazing view at the top! We definitely weren't expecting to climb as much as we did, starting from Horseshoe Bay (about 1 km elevation). It is very steep at times, rocky and a little slippery so GOOD HIKING SHOES are highly recommended. I went in Vans instead of my hiking boots and my feet felt like they were going to fall off. Though it is a great hike and if you're up to the challenge it is very rewarding! You should probably bring 3-4 litres of water. Sometimes the trail isn't very clear coming up from Horseshoe Bay so make sure to look out for the Orange markers. Great experience!

The hike is just difficult enough to be fun. There was still lots of snow and mud when we did it, but I'm sure it's almost snow free and dry now. You pass by many nice little lakes and walk through a few different types of terrain on your way to the viewpoint. Offers a decent view of Howe Sound, although I think a better view can be found on St Mark's Summit, which can be accessed from the same parking lot.

Great hike. Beautiful scenery. About 8 kilometre long round trip. The first half is steep and can be challenging for some people but the rest is fairly easy. Trail is very well marked. You can visit Cabin lake, Black Mountain, Yew Lake Look Out, and Eagle Bluffs in one hike as there are close to each other. Do not forget to have a short swim in Cabin Lake in your way as it is so refreshing (but cold). Be aware of bear presence in the area and have bear spray. Trail is not as crazy busy as some of the trails that we see these days with all sort of visitors. Eagle Bluffs view is nice but hope is not cloudy when you go. Overall satisfying hike and recommended. Hike Date: Sep 2, 2019

Beautiful hike and nice view. My first hike in Vancouver and I would recommend even if you are a beginner.

Beautiful view of West Vancouver and the Horseshoe Bay area. It was hazy due to the fires in the area but the view was gorgeous nonetheless. Decently tame hike with a steep start and a few rocks and roots to get around. This trail starts at the cypress mountain parking lot and make sure to follow the right paths up as the arrows and be misleading at times. Great pit stop at Cabin Lake.

Great bang for your buck hike as it is close to Vancouver and relatively easy/short but has breathtaking views. Be warned, it can get cloudy at times and then you get no view so check the weather beforehand!
