I love this museum. I’m never disappointed. Always interesting exhibits every season. The Nicolas Party exhibit going on presently is lovely and colourful. Worth going to see!

Great experience, reasonably priced. If you're driving finding parking can be hard but you can get lucky and find parking in the streets. Now, let's talk about the museum itself. The most interesting collection I found interesting are those of Yousuf Karsh. His works are amazing and this museum has almost all of it. A must see if you do visit this place. I recommend

Good museum! The coverage of art from Gothic through Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Impressionism is nicely done. The selection is good, although few notable pieces in the collection. There are then some interesting additional fine arts and contemporary exhibitions. In particular the current exhibition on voice was excellent, especially the final room with choir voices. The building is also very impressive, with some lovely window spaces having a great views across downtown Montreal

If you're 30 and under, be sure to sign up for a membership! You get unlimited access to the museum, among many other great features. My favourite place to browse art for hours in Montreal.

The Museum offers lots of exhibits to enjoy. It has at least 2 buildings that are connected underground across the street. You could spend hours there. Free admission for people under 20.

A beautiful museum full of all kinds of art from all eras of human history. Definitely worth a trip if you're visiting the city. It's a mainstay for school trips and family outings in Montreal, for good reason. The museum also holds lots of activities for artists aged 1-100.

Spent almost 5 hours wondering around this place. It’s one of my top favorite museums around the world. I loved the exhibitions going on and the variety of art. The seatings and couches throughout was amazing. So inviting and they want you to sit and contemplate the art. I love it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back soon because I didn’t even get to see it all.

Worth it! As someone who's not an art geek, I ended up spending over 2 hours here - even though many areas were closed (I went on the first day of re-opening after the Omicron wave). There's a lot to see and be amazed by. In fact, the more you look at the exhibits the more you appreciate them. The building has its interiors creatively designed, has plenty of seating, either for resting or for just sitting and feasting your eyes on intriguing, beautiful art. Overall, this place was time well-spent. Be sure to check with the staff about what's open; a few sections have been closed off due to COVID restrictions. You have permanent exhibits on one side of the main building which is best viewed from the highest floor to the lowest, that way you can appreciate the evolution of European art through the different eras (Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, Modern). I don't know my eras well, but if you do, you'll easily lose track of time. The other side of the main building has more of a mélange of eras and styles: modern, ancient, interactive, contemporary, fine, etc. There are hidden gems on every floor, although personally, I enjoyed the permanent exhibits (the eras). Note: the discounted entry ($12) on Wednesday evenings gives you limited access. It's just one floor of the permanent exhibits.
