★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Before Christmas of 2018 I bought my sister a gift card because she loves the store. She has been in three times to redeem the gift card unsuccessfully due to the card reader being out of order. The last of the three times she try to redeem they said they could honour it only if there is a supporting receipt. I do not have the receipt as I purchased the gift card a long time ago. They should be able to tell how much the gift card is worth and just honour it. I called and left a voicemail for the manager over a week ago with no return call. This whole shopping experience has turned me off of the store and will never go back again. This is a bad way to conduct business, they should just honour the gift certificate and be done with it. As well it would’ve been nice if somebody returned my call.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered a couple gifts from Maker's keep to do surprise drop offs for friends during COVID-19, and so they offered drop off to my apartment which made things very convenient for me. The service was swift and the products were great quality. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve popped into The Makers Keep on multiple occasions as they carry fun and alternative gifting options and locally made products. However, every single time the customer service truly turns me off from purchasing anything in the shop. Rarely do I ever receive a hello and the employees (sometimes 2 on occasion) are always siting behind the cash desk and half the time on their cell phones. I have never once been asked if I needed help or seen an employee leave the desk to assist customers - which if you ask me is the least you can do for the people supporting your store, especially when the price points are higher due to the nature of how the products are produced. I would suggest customer service training or basic customer service principles being instilled on employees.

I buy the majority of my gifts here as I always find something for everyone on my list! It's really cool to see what people in the community have created and learning their stories. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the customer service is seriously lacking :/ I don’t expect much but the least you can do is greet your customers. the girl working didn’t bother to say hello or ask if we were looking for anything specific, nothing. I had to take initiative and greet HER, and she didn’t bother to look up. it just came off as extremely rude, like folding shirts was more important than possible paying customers, and we were made to feel unwelcome.
