About The Local Kitchen Ltd
Ludovic Piejos
Ludovic Piejos was born in Paris however his roots are also in Martinique which is a French Carribean island. His passion is cooking and he specifically loves to focus on the techniques of French pastry, as well as combining the rich flavours of Caribbean cuisine.
Ludovic has spent years training in perfecting his skills by taking many classes on technical skills on puff pastry making including making croissant and pain aux chocolat, macaron making and working to make the perfect crusts which are used for quiche, making delicious sweet and savoury tarts. His Caribbean background has enabled him to learn and practice the cooking methods of these rich, cultural foods using different spices. These subtle flavours provide a unique taste that are the signature to many different types of Caribbean foods.
Ludovic is passionate about bringing the taste of Paris and Martinique to the prairies. He also recently participated to the baking competition Wall of Bakers on The Food Network and won!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took part in one of their experieces which was a guided tour through riversdale, stopping at the community garden, 9 mile brewery, topped off with an amazing meal that incorporated all the local elements and it was fantastic! 10/10 would do this again.

Everyone loved cooking and eating the food and the escape rooms at Mastermind were great - challenging but not too difficult. They staff were welcoming and great to work with. We would definitely go back to The Local Kitchen again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the local kitchen host our 2017 Christmas party last month. The event was well coordinated with Mastermind Live Escape room to provide us both a kitchen and escape room experience. One group worked in the kitchen preparing a portion of the meal, while the other group enjoyed the escape rooms. The groups then switched roles and it timed out perfectly for meal time. The meal we prepared was excellent!
The staff and chef were very helpful and ensured we were all enjoying ourselves throughout the evening. We were all impressed with the professionalism and the experience The Local Kitchen had to offer.
If anyone is looking for an enjoyable evening with great food, ambiance and entertainment I recommend contacting the Local Kitchen for your event!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I attended an outdoor cooking class with Chef Devereaux at the Local Kitchen. Highly recommend!! It was so fun and the pizza was delicious! This is the perfect night out. Shout out to Kate for being an incredible host. I can't wait to do it again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I attended the gnocchi making class by chef Lindsay and host Sidney this evening. We had a lot of fun, learned a new skill, and ate a delicious meal. We also took home enough leftover gnocchi for the freezer for multiple meals(for two). The food was fantastic. The browned butter cream sauce may be my new favourite food. Ha! Chef Lindsay was funny, knowledgeable, kind and overall just a fantastic teacher. Sidney was kind, friendly and helpful. She made everyone feel right at home. I have celiac disease and the girls accommodated me so that I would be able to make the gnocchi gluten free-which I am sure was a huge pain for them…but you would never have known. They were so accommodating and lovely. 10/10 would return for another class.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I really enjoyed the live virtual Hawaiian cooking class tonight. We made Salmon Poke Bowls and Huli Huli Chicken Wings. All the sauces were simple to make but complex in flavour, and the preparations of everything were easy to follow. Chef Dana was our instructor tonight and she was really friendly and made sure everyone was keeping up and doing ok with everything.
My husband has never done a cooking class and I have only done one, a long time ago. It was quite fast paced, and we were able to keep up, but my husband had said he wished it was a “touch slower”.
Overall it was fun, the food was DELICIOUS, and we will definitely be doing more classes with them. We really enjoy cooking together, so tonight was great making something we’ve never made before.
