The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Garry Street

I've been coming to Garry St. Keg for decades was my favorite Keg. Went for supper News Years Eve 2021 ,early evening reservation. We ordered our meal, received our meal and it was terrible to begin with the broccoli was cold, I don't even know what the other vegetable was suppose to be, . My steak was tough as shoe leather, my lobster was barely lukewarm. My husbands ribs were tasteless. Only the potato was hot and baked properly. Then a few minutes into our meal the fire alarm started. We were told it was a false alarm. Our waitress was no where to be seen, she was never around we couldn't even tell her about our meal. she didn't even come over to ask how the meal was. It wasn't overly busy because of the restrictions in restaurants. Where we were seated was a glass partition from the main aisle to the kitchen, so all the servers would line up and talk againest the partition. The alarm kept going off and the firefighters showed up and went to the kitchen. We could see the smoke in the air from the kitchen. Finally our waitress came over and told us they were shutting down the restaurant due to a kitchen malfunction. Not even finished our meal, the waitress brings us a box for our food, along with our bill. Nothing Comped from our bill. Also our waitress added another tables dinners to our bill and proceeded to tell us that our bill was correct that she didn't add onto our bill, I read my bill off to her and she then said she would go back and get it adjusted for us. Again, no acknowledgement of the error on her part . We received our proper bill, We paid and left not even a manager came to talk to the customers, no apology from management nothing at all. Extremely disappointed with the Keg management. Extremely disappointed by all

So disappointing they took crab off of the menu. For 250$ meal I can make better steak at home. Nice to not have to cook but not worth it. Was so much better before. I guess we are just getting use to cooking at home.

Waited 15 minutes for my take out order. Waiting room was packed, felt very uncomfortable in terms of social distancing. I ended up in front of the fireplace, so hot, nowhere else to stand. Food was good, portions were great, but my potatoes tasted off, not sure why. I don't think I would order take out again. I certainly did not feel comfortable waiting in that tight area.

I had made reservations for myself and my partner to celebrate an important event for us. We arrived promptly at 715 when we had scheduled the reservation for. Immediately we were told our table wasn’t ready so we waited. 15 minutes while the hostesses (4 of them) were seeing in other guests (also tables of two) and taking them to their tables Eventually we were told our table was finally ready and when we got to it it was a random table in the middle of an obvious walkway. Had we stayed not only would we be super warm sitting directly in front of the fire place but we would have had people walking into us all night. Not impressed. Thank goodness we live downtown near a ton of other great dining spots. However this keg happens to be a block away and we would have loved to have a great experience and frequented. However I don’t think we’ll ever go back

What a great experience. From the service, food and great company. Celebrated our birthdays here and got phenomenal service and all food was done to perfection. Haven't been in a few years and the prices have definitely increased from what I remember, however, it seems like the portions are MUCH larger (bigger starter salad, not just 3 slices of veggies, you get a huge portion). Left full up to the brim. Thanks for making our birthdays memorable.

I don't give out 5 stars very often, but The Keg checked all the boxes. Very nice staff, good drinks, and the food was excellent! No wonder it was packed!

Tbh, I'm not a big fan of steaks. So I ordered ribs and roasted chicken. The chicken was perfectly done and it tasted soo good. The ribs were also good. For the dessert I always prefer billy miner pie. It's my favorite. Food was good, servers were good. Perfect place to try out something different than the steak.

Food was great, Drinks were good, Service was good, Made a reservation but still had to wait 15 or so minutes to be seated. One thing to mention is the knifes provided to cut the steak with were beyond dull and worn out , could just barely cut the meat after working it threw. For an expensive Steak house you think they would be on top of that.
