I've tried a lot of BBQ chicken in Toronto, and this restaurant has the best sauce and texture of chicken I have ever tried! Used them for a catering event at my work, and it was a hit! They have great service, and delivered everything in a timely manner. Love supporting local Caribbean businesses!

Lunch and dinner never tasted sooooo good...great new spot with authentic flavors of home and tastes that will make you want to be back on the islands. The portions are great and the price point right on the money. But the taste and seasoning is what is EXCEPTIONAL. I have had the fried chicken, rise & peas, callaloo & saltfish (outstanding!), bbq chicken and the festival (they are huge!). Everything I have had I thoroughly enjoyed and was made with love, a passion for quality food and was just right to satisfy my hunger. Lastly the staff is so friendly and smiles all around. Come by and check out the location at Yonge & Sheppard in the food court of the Sheppard Centre. Your not going to be disappointed. :-)

Just ate their bbq chicken and it was absolutely delicious. ? If you enjoy REAL chicken (not just breast) you have to try it. They give you the best portions of dark and white meat and it's amazing. Portions are actually large and it will definitely fill you up. Staff was very friendly too. You have to try their food when you're on campus.

The food and service is the best on campus and the province. It is fresh, consistent and offers a true taste of the Caribbean that I cannot find elsewhere. The owners are top class gentlemen who responded to my catering needs with precision and I am more than satisfied. I would absolutely cater with them again. I highly recommend the vegetarian options, jerk/bbq chicken and oxtail.

My friends have been telling me about how good the food at this restaurant was, finally last weekend I payed them a visit. I got my typical jerk chicken meal with rice and peas along with lots of gravy; something I always get from Caribbean restaurants, so I would say I am an expert! Hands down, this is one of the best tasting jerk chicken meals I have had. I got a medium size dinner, which comes with 4 pieces of juicy jerk chicken, perfectly cooked rice and peas, and tasty, not overly dressed coleslaw! What impressed me the most was the fact that this dish was authentic in spice. Most Caribbean restaurants now a days dumb down the spice and TRY to call their dish jerk chicken-its almost comical! To top it all off, the staff are super friendly, and the wait was not long. This experience was definitely worth the 45 min drive. If I could give them 6 stars I would! My ONLY suggestion, open more locations :).....please - Falon

I’m not the type to ever leave reviews but I just feel I have to for this establishment. Don’t get me wrong, I love their food. But the past few times I’ve been here, I feel their portions are getting smaller. I really watched their worker measure my coleslaw for a good two mins, making sure he gave me a teaspoons worth for my MEDIUM order. The lady put the smallest amount of rice with gravy and gave me one good chicken piece with the rest being burnt pieces with no chicken on it. Come on guys, what is that. I was so disappointed. It’s happened to me so many times that I finally had to write a review. Please stop being stingy with the portions, 13$ was definitely not worth it.

Great food, and if you catch the lunch special, great prices. One of the better places to eat on or around campus. Chicken is juicy, flavourful, has the right amount of spice and flavour (although sometimes I’ve noticed spice levels are either really high or really low for no apparent reason). Staff are very prompt and friendly. Service is fast and they’ll work through massive lineups very quickly. Occasionally I feel that certain staff members are overly stingy, but it doesn’t appear to be consistent across the organization. Overall would definitely recommend.

The Islands Caribbean Restaurant inside York U's student centre is the best of the best in the area for West Indian food. I just had heir new jerk chicken sandwich and it is AMAZING. Definitely give that a try. I've had almost everything else on the menu, and can vouch for this place with ease. Good job @TheIslandsYU!
