The Griz Inn

We booked our room online last minute as we didn't really know where we wanted to go so we booked here.  We booked a standard room which was ok as we didn't want to spend a ton on short notice and we knew a lot of places were going to be super expensive because of the long weekend.  We arrived on the Saturday here, the front end lady was extremely helpful, when we arrived to our room we were a bit shocked that we were in the basement which I thought was a bit odd but ok it is an older inn.  When we arrived to our room we noticed how small the room was, I felt we were a bit deceived about how big the room was, I've been to lots of other places and even for how cheap we paid we had bigger rooms before, I guess it wasn't that big of a deal but would have liked to have the opportunity when we arrived to have the option to get into a bigger room, but that was not the case clearly which I thought was strange but whatever, regardless of that I noticed when we finally got settled when I went to the bathroom, it was not very clean, the bathtub had hair in it, there was hair all along the lining of the bathtub and on the floor.  It was pretty disgusting so I was not happy about that, but whatever the only good part of being in that room is that we were steps away from the hot tub that's about it. We were a bit shocked to hear that staff leaves after 5pm so no one is here and the building gets locked up which you can only access from the front entrance, thought it was a bit strange.  Next day we asked about ski lift passes and where we can get them front end lady same lady from the day before gave them to us for free because we were staying at the inn, 5 stars to her! Our overall stay was ok, but nothing to get excited about, I wasn't too impressed I had to wait till 9am to check out, we were trying to get on the road to go back home and I came into the front about 840am had to used the phone to see if someone can come earlier to check us out, the lady on the phone said the guy was just coming down the hill so should be there shortly and will let him know I was waiting. I waited for more than 5 minutes so clearly he was not just coming down the hill, it seemed like he made me wait till exactly 9am just so I can check out, pretty frustrating I had to wait 20 minutes when I was told it would be shorter time. Check out went ok and then we left. Overall experience I'm give a 3 out of 5 stars. The first front end lady she receives 5 stars! She was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Size of room and cleanliness 3 stars Close to hot tub 5 stars! Trying to check out was a pain so I'm only giving 2 stars. Overall stay experience was ok, but could have been better.

Rusty Edge has great food, a great selection of beer on tap, awesome service, and is the best place for lunch/après ski. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

Despite the age of the building, the location and amenities are perfect! You cannot beat being steps from the lift! The only downside to staying here is that the bar plays their music outside until late at night so its a bit noisy.

Allowed me to cancel last minute when my friends bailed last minute. Then on my next trip when I actually stayed there, they were laid back and very helpful. Great rates on decent sized rooms with great internet (the cheap g floor rooms have thier own internet for every room with 100 download and upload).

Fantastic lodging right on the hill. A little older, but everything was clean and in order when I arrived and enjoyed my stay. Will be staying here again next year

Great little in at the base of the ski hill. Went during off season and it was nice and quiet. Pool and hot tub are well maintained and were lovely to relax in.

They have decided to cancel our booking, along with many others that have previously booked months ahead for the construction workers. Terrible business practices and can not hold up there own end of the deal. Do not recommend.

Super comfortable place to stay. Updated 80s vibe. Feet from the elk chairlift and bunny hill t-bar. The rusty edge restaurant has great specials and surprisingly good vegies and salads. Try their Mediterranean platter for something tasty and guilt free. Outdoor hot tube great for a sore skier at the end of the day. Look forward to our next stay.
