Complete waste of my time. They booked me for Canada day, only to show up and find out they’re closed. Went back on Thursday and dropped it off no problem. Haven’t heard from them in a day and a half so I call and they tell me they can’t do the gears in my car. No one reached out to me, and they told me it would get done by Friday afternoon. I supplied all parts and fluids, just needed an install. I’m disappointed and furious. Don’t use this shop

These guys were top-notch. I was traveling through Calgary and had some concerns with my rear diff. I called after hours, and they called me back and invited me in the next morning even without an appointment. When I arrived they pulled a tech to spend about 25 min with me to discuss my situation and ultimately we found there was nothing to be fixed. When I offered to pay for their time they wouldn’t let me. Thanks very much Nick and Clay for the incredible service.

I had my transmission in my half ton replaced here. Wow, what a disaster. First, I made an appointment for a transmission swap, they said 3-4 days. It took 6. $3400 I get my truck back and my gut said go look underneath. I discovered a massive transmission fluid leak, I'm missing one of the bolts in the exhaust system that had to be removed for the swap and one of my cross member bolts was only on 3 threads. I call, they said drop it off we will fix it. Well, 10 days it was there and they fixed the leak. 10 DAYS!!!! after I get my truck back, again, the transmission lasted only 5100km and failed out camping. After paying the $860 tow bill to get it to their shop, they test drive it and tell me all I have is 3rd gear. So they drop the pan and tell me that there is debris in the pan and it has to come out for disassembly. They removed the transmission, disassemble, and tell me 1-2 clutches are burnt out and need replacement. They tell me it's my fault for "improper shifting" and I'm going to have to pay for the repairs and warranty will not cover it. Funny, I haven't changed my driving style and the original transmission lasted 250 000km and the only reason I wanted to replace it is because 3rd gear started slipping while towing. So they "fix" it, put it back in and what do you know, it only has 3rd gear still. At this point they had my truck for 28 days. So they replaced the pressure manifold and what do you know, it works. After 29 days in the shop they hit me with a $1500 bill. At this point they have had my truck for a total of 45 days and a bill of $4900. That's not the end of it, after 7200km on the 2nd rebuild its developed another massive transmission fluid leak. WTF already. $4900, 45 days. 2 returns and its leaking again. That is not service, its robbery. There are no words to describe how unsatisfied I am. Clay was rude to me every time I talked to him and Sean was no help at all. I wouldn't trust this shop to change the oil in my lawn mower.

If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. I had to put a new gear set, bearings and seals into the rear diff on my 2005 Silverado 2500HD and so I called The Gear Center for parts. Right from the first call the customer service I received from these guys was second to none. Kevin (their parts guru) was a great help every time I needed something. Clay (the service manager) is extremely knowledgeable and is also a gem of a guy always went above any beyond (i.e. taking time on his lunch break to talk to me as well as giving me tons of advice and support during and after hours). I would trust these guys with anything and highly recommend them. They are the best in southern AB in my opinion so if you have any gearbox / driveline needs, this is your shop. Thanks Clay and Kevin!

A Big Thank you to both mechanics Clay and Troy who both went above and beyond in service by helping me in my time of need being an out-of town visitor to the Calgary area. They both took the time to explain, inspect and diagnose an issue with my truck. I truly appreciate the honesty and integrity received from this shop. 5 stars. I recommend. Thank you!

I had some excessive noise from the back of my Ford F150 so i took it to a local Auto shop for an assessment. I was told my entire rear diff needed replacement which would cost $3,700 and take 2 weeks. I rang around several other Auto shops to get comparative pricing for the job and two different shops recommended the Gear Centre (Pats Driveline). They weren't wrong. I spoke with Nick on the phone and he was very helpful. An hour later i arrived at the shop and Clay took the truck for a test drive. He made a preliminary diagnosis and said depending on what he uncovered when he opened it up it would cost between $1600 & $2500 to replace the damaged parts. Already a saving of $1200. I left the truck with them and the following day i got the truck back good as new for $1700. The time and money savings were great but i really appreciated the time Clay spent explaining the issue and answering any questions i had. Top class!

I had gotten my rear differential re-done from this shop in 2017. In Aug 2020 I took my truck into my repair shop because I was hearing a clunking and they told me my differential was blown and that's why it was clunking hard. Next day I called gear center and told them what had happened, the guy at the front desk same day told me Clay would call me back as he had worked on rebuilding the diff unit, 2 hours passed and at around 4:50pm the front desk person called me and told me that Clay was still busy but would call me back. After hours at 5:20pm Clay called me back and with the utmost concern for the job he asked me to kindly bring the vehicle, considering that it was almost 2.5years since the job was done instead of deflecting the issue which is standard behavior at 99% of mechanic shops and that was what was expected but instead I saw the gear center difference in terms of it's commitment to standing behind it's product. Next day I bought t he truck in, Clay spent time to fully diagnose the issue and narrowed it down to wheel bearings. The communication, dedication and utmost commitment to standard of job completion that Clay exhibited assures me to tell everyone about my amazing experience with this company and it's employee. I will be dealing with these guy's again. Thank you Clay, for a job well done and treating the job likes it's your business, it's very rare to find that level of service these days. As a PS. because I felt it was necessary for me to pay a service fee I offered, as it was not The Gear Center's fault for the issue instead Clay informed me that it was part of the customer service the Gear Center is committed to and there was no need. Thanks Again Gear Center!!!

I had a dealer in Lethbridge replace both my front axle seals. I was in Calgary and they started leaking. My local mechanic told me these guys are the pros. Took my truck there and Matt was so awesome at getting all the details and talking to the dealer who botched the work. Dealer called me to apologize and paid for everything thanks to Matt. If you need something done right, take it to the Gear Centre!
