The Cat's Meow - Sherwood Park

Unfortunately I will not be returning here. My first 2 visits were not bad but the third not so much. I love the way she grooms my cat and she is a very nice lady however, the business she is attached too, "The Happy Pet Spa" is a complete nightmare and the owner truly has no idea what she is doing. I arrived for my cat grooming app at 840am, i was booked for 9am. I went inside ten minutes prior too and Jeannine was not there yet. The owner of the happy pet spa proceeded to take my name/number and told me she would leave my cat on the counter until Jeannine arrived. Meanwhile in the back ground the dogs of the daycare are extremely wound up and getting no attention from the dog "trainer". No way I was leaving my cat on the counter and driving away without knowing he was in good hands first. I went back in right for 9am which was my appointment time. Jeannine was still not there which, I understand people can sometimes be late however, when your cancellation policy and waiver very clearly states for your clients to be early and respect your time, that should be reciprocated to your clients as you are a professional business. The owner of happy pet spa asked me "is Jeannine here yet? did you see her vehicle? why are you so early?" How am I supposed to know if Jeannine has arrived, I'M the client ?‍♀️ I waited inside for another 10 minutes and chose to leave because of what I saw happening in the dog daycare part of the business. The space is WAY too small for the amount of dogs they are signing in on a daily basis. There is no outdoor space for the dogs so they use the floor as the washroom. The establishment itself is run down and very dirty. Then I witnessed 3 big dogs in the face of 1 smaller dog who began to get very uncomfortable. His heckles on his back were up, teeth out and snapping at the other dogs, clearly needing some separation. At no point in time did anyone intervene probably because the owner didn't even turn around to see what was happening. I heard the trainer yell at the dogs numerous times when she didn't know how to deal with what was happening around her on. It was uncomfortable to say the least so I chose to leave since Jeannine was still not there for my app. Unfortunately I think this is partially guilty by association but animal comfortability and safety is my priority which this establishment does not provide on either side of the business.

First time getting my Cat groomed and Jeannie let me stay and watch, I felt very comforted by her 12 years of experience. She did a fantastic job with my cat, and treated him with lots of affection! I absolutely recommend this place and will be coming back!

Jeannie is absolutely phenomenal. We take our kitty here every 3 months and she has definitely bonded with Jeannie. Would recommend to EVERY cat parent. Thanks for always making our kitty comfortable and feeling like the princess she is for every appointment.

The absolute best choice for cat grooming! She was so patient and gentle with my cat which kept her nice and calm, took the time to explain what was happening with my cats’ coat, showed me how to properly comb her, and gave me so much information I never knew about caring for my cats’ coat. My cat had dandruff which I assumed was because she has dry skin but she told me the opposite, my cat is oily and needs to be bathed more often! I’m so glad I took my precious Loki here and would highly recommend any cat parent to bring them here for grooming and care.

Really friendly and described the process for me for a first time cat grooming. My cats loved their new Lion haircuts and had a bunch of zoomies and fresh energy in the days after.

We took our long haired cat who is very anxious about grooming to the Cat’s Meow. Jeannie was wonderful on the phone about providing information and assuaging my concerns. In person, she handled our cat very gently and expertly, and provided me with useful tips about how to groom our cat at home. She is super friendly and skilled, and comes across as genuinely concerned about the cats’ welfare. Highly recommended!

We have been to many cat groomers in the Edmonton area and Jeannie is by FAR the best!! She is so kind and compassionate, and is able to put our nervous girl at ease for her grooming session. Not to mention she does an incredible job! We got a lion cut for Echo, she looks absolutely precious and is so much more comfortable and energetic without all of her thick fur holding her back - perfect for the spring and summer! Thank you again Jeannie for taking such amazing care of our little Echo!!

ok, I don't even know where to start, but Jeannie has gone ABOVE and BEYOND taking care of my kitties. I have two cats, a loving but fragile Rag doll who is 13 years old who had never needed grooming before and a female Persian kitten who seriously dislike the brush and her matts went out of control. Jeannie, was so helpful and caring. She took time to advice me in the right tools usage for maintenance at home. I also LOVE that she offers PET TAXI!!! I don't drive and this is the most amazing service, she comes pick the kitties up and delivers them back safe. She is kind and very professional. I can't say enough good things about her and her grooming services. Seriously recommend her services to anyone looking for a great groomer! My cats don't mind her handling them at all and come back home always in a great mood. Thanks Jeannie for all you have done for my fur family.
