Extremely good service and The Grooming is the best they have everything you need and the staff is extremely friendly and very helpful I definitely recommend this petvalu at this location

Very poor service..staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional…9/10 time they reschedule the appointments and then don’t treat our pet nicely..very disappointed with their service. Will not be visiting this place again

I want to preface this message by saying that the actual front store staff at this Pet Value are absolutely incredible. My girlfriend and I shop at this store almost every other day; they know us and our pets by name; they are fantastic. This unfortunate review is based around the individual (Decia) who does dog grooming out of this location. Last weekend we were scheduled to have our dog groomed, and an hour before the appointment we were advised that she needed to reschedule; things happen we understood. Fast forward to today. Our dog was scheduled in for a 9:00am grooming. My girlfriend brought our dog to the store, but the groomer was no where to be seen. The staff attempted to get ahold of her by calling her phone AND her partners; radio silence. At 9:30am, half an hour after we were scheduled, she finally responds saying that she slept through her alarm but could be there in 25 minutes. At 10:00am she was still no where to be seen. At this point, another person with a 10:00am appointment had shown up so it was fairly obvious that our dog was not going to be groomed today. Finally at about 10:10am Decia rolls in and blows right past everyone without so much as a formal apology which is absolutely unacceptable! At this point my girlfriend had wasted over an hour of our time on one of the only days that we have available, only to be met with complete indifference and inconsideration. There are three take-aways here: 1) As a “grown adult” providing a service and ultimately representing someone else’s business, sleeping through your alarm(s) is not an acceptable excuse. Especially when we already had to reschedule with this person previously. Any regular employer would be giving this person a write up, or terminating their employment if irresponsibility is reoccurring. 2) In the event that you are unable to honour an appointment, it is your responsibility to adequately remedy the situation. Blowing past your appointment and pretending like nothing has happened without an explanation is the epitome of inconsideration. 3) If it wasn’t for the front staff being so outstanding (as always) and trying to fix the problem as best they could, I would probably never be back to this business. Individuals like Decia need to understand the gravity of misrepresenting someone’s business, especially during times like these. I would suggest the franchise owner find someone who is more customer care focused to do the grooming going forward.

I so enjoy every experience/trip to Pet Valu - staff are always friendly and knowledgeable/helpful - lots of neat products and lines you can’t get anywhere else - we recently switched our Rescue dog Jake to the Orijens Dog food and treats! Our pup hasn’t been happier and healthier - his coat is so rich - the quality of the Orijens from Champion Pet Foods and it’s few ingredients has our boy very happy and healthy

Always nice staff and helpful with any and all of our needs. Only Pet Valu store I will ever go to as they are knowledeable and go above a 5 star rating. They care about people and animals.

Okay, I am conflicted about this review, but have been meaning to write a review for a while so here we go. I do like this store. Most of the people are really good. They do a lot of good things too, teaming up with rescues for example. But one of the staff members was just awful to my partner while I was on the phone with him for reasons outside of his control. So yeah, 2/5. It was such an awful experience for him. Edit: the manager reached out to us and gave him a gift basket of kitten supplies. The staff were very accommodating and even let us know when the lady who was rude wouldn't be working. We were assured she would be talked to as well. I know the pandemic has made people paranoid, but awareness of disabilities and medical issues needs to be a thing.

The employee with the blue hair was very friendly and accommodating! The store fairly big and has a lot of different selections. Prices for bones are cheaper compared to most places, however some of the beds, cat trees are way over priced. The shampoo is actually affordable as well. We gave our dog a bath, I was expecting it to be $20-$25. We get to the counter come to find out its free! Overall was a very pleasant experience, the lady even gave us a little treat bag for our dog and gave her some kangaroo jerky. The only reason for the missing star would be for the pricing of some items. Would highly recommend this pet store however! :)
