This place is nice. We went last Saturday night and the server J make our experience in this spot so memorable for a first timers. We truly recommend the Sailor A; it’s ideal for 2. The shrimp was well cooked but at the same time juicy. The rice is also a good choice (really steamy and soft). The staff is so kind and we definitely have to go there to keep exploring their menu.

The place to hit if you want fresh seafood and are open to get your hands ( and other body parts ) messy ! Loved the food here. Oh that captains boil sauce is the bomb !

We wanted a different place to celebrate some milestones (other then The Keg) and decided to give this place a go. We were so surprised and extremely happy we did! Unique, fun experience, nothing we have had before which made the celebration memorable and special. I had the king crab and my husband had the lobster. the servers were so friendly and service topped the night off. It was awesome!

honestly, extremely disappointing. unflavoured, small portions, quite bland. was pricey, our king crab tasted off so we only had one bite and had to stop ($78..). our sever was very nice. didn’t do a quality check to see if we liked/didn’t like, so we paid for food we didn’t even eat.

We thought we'd check out The Captain's Boil for date night and we very disappointed. The portions were quite underwhelming for the price of each bag. The garlic flavor was seasoned with minced chopped garlic you would get in a jar, not fresh garlic, and it made for a sour tasting flavor. The potatoes were large Russets cut in half, rather than the smaller potatoes you'd typically eat with a seafood boil so only the outsides of the potatoes were seasoned. The Cajun seasoning was decent and it paired well with the shrimp and mussels, and the sausage was also flavorful and delicious. I'm not actually sure if we were assigned a server as we watched the woman who took our order walk out of the restaurant before we finished our meal. A number of wait staff walked by our table but no one else really talked to us until the end of the meal when we laid out our credit card for the bill. Also, at no point were we asked for proof of our vaccination records. During our entire meal, there were about 3 to 4 children running around the restaurant without masks and we did not observe any staff talk to their guardians at a nearby large table. By the end of the night, the same large group ended up standing up and were clustered in groups around the restaurant without masks. Again, none of the staff addressed any of these individuals. My husband and I could not get out there fast enough. Quite a disappointing date night. For the cost of our meal, we will not be returning anytime soon.

The food was not cooked very well, we ordered shrimp boil and everything was overcooked. When we tried to peel the shrimp it all turned to mush and the flavor was terrible. Also the portions are very little compared to what they charge; 10$ for a handful of fries that were soggy and flavorless. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Interesting idea for a restaurant, but needs to be implemented better. Price should account for type of food, effort to cook food, amount of food, presentation of food, among many other factors. The food, I believe, is simply boiled then shaken in a plastic bag with sauce and served. It doesn’t take much effort to serve the food they’re giving, and the price/ambience is not fair to customers. What I’m trying to get at, is you get similar if not better prices at Red Lobster and they go through much more prep to make your food. I understand this is your theme, but it just doesn’t seem worth how much you’re asking for. Another issue we had was the β€˜famous’ seafood fried rice. There were barely any shrimp, the scallops were minced much too small (therefore we didn’t get very much), and the rest was just rice. For $17?? I liked the taste but $17 for some seasoned parboiled rice and 3 pieces of shrimp is a rip off to put it nicely. We ordered shrimp and my wife was put off by the head still attached and skin on. While I understand this is how they naturally are in the ocean, it would be nice to have the option of having your shrimp served peeled. I ended up peeling the shrimp for her and with it, all the flavour of the sauce it was shaken in. I mean it was $22, is the option to have my food prepped the way I like it too much to ask for? I was really looking forward to this place because family in Toronto has told me much about it, but I won’t be wasting my money here anymore. Good luck with your business and hope you can re-evaluate your prices. ??
