Thai on 59

They have the best Pho Satay ever! I've got my girlfriends hooked on it as well. :) And they are super friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

After driving past for years, finally popped in and boy were we glad we did. Considering it was the dead of winter with an air temp of -30, the place was bumping with dinners, a good sign. The summer roll, which I know as salad rolls, were really good, the dipping sauce is tangy and enjoyable. The beef pad thai was fresh off the skillet and lived up to my expectations. The pho soup was enjoyed even by our finicky family members. Lastly, the steak which has a distinct thai zing, was prepared just the doneness we requested. Well worth the short drive from Winnipeg.

In general, it is a decent Thai restaurant. Curry is a little too salty.

I live in Blumenort, so I don't normally find myself stopping in Ile Des Chênes. I have Doctor's appointments in Winnipeg and my Husband works in Grande Pointe, So I always end up driving past at some point. When Thai on 59 opened I thought, "I really need to try that place!" But never had the time to stop. Well today was the day! Lol A lady who lives in Ile Des Chênes purchased an item from me and I was going to Winnipeg anyways and told her I would deliver the item to her, on my way back. I took my truck for a wash at Co-Op after, and realized I had some time left, so I stopped at Thai on 59 and I'm happy I did! The restaurant was clean, organized with a calming atmosphere and nicely decorated. Staff was friendly, nice and courteous. I ordered "The Thai-way 59 platter" and "The Deluxe Vermicelli" with pork and chicken to take home; Service was fast. I LOVE Thai, Vietnames, Japanese, Filipino and Chinese food. I could live off of it. I lived in Japan when I was a baby/toddler and grew up on sushi, tempura and tons of soups (suimono, butajiru, miso, etc) I didn't care much for Sushi and I can't stomach it now ?... But tempura, rice, soups, udon, yakisoba.. I want all of it! Lol ? My Husband doesn't really eat Asian cuisine, aside from Chinese, but he sure helped himself to my tempura; pretty much ate it all ? I hope I have time in the near future to stop in for a second feast ? Update: October 3rd, 2019. DINE IN EXPERIENCE. Still going strong with 5 starts. My Husband and I were in the area and were headed home for dinner. I said, "Since we're close, let's go to Thai on 59." Our server was great, food was fresh and hot as can be. We ordered the must have Thai-way 59 platter to share. I order the Thai curry vermicelli with chicken and a Thai iced coffee. My Husband ordered cashew stir-fry with noodles and beef. With a peach bubble tea. Be prepared to wait a little longer as the food is prepared fresh and made to order.

First time here, very good food. Had the Thai curry chicken. Ordered medium-sized quite spicy but very flavorful. Good selection of dishes to choose from. Even have desert and tea as well. Service was very friendly, and they make sure you are enjoying your meals. Price of food is fair- not expensive for an excellent experience. I will be back. Support independent small business!

My family and I got take-out for the first time here and were very impressed! The teriyaki with tofu and the crispy spring rolls were amazing. Would definitely come back.
