Until I moving out of the area a few years ago, this was my favourite local sushi spot. Always greeted with a smile, the couple owned restaurant always left me feeling good in my tummy as well as in supporting a local small business. I will happily make a point to stop in whenever in the area and encourage others in supporting them; they are an asset to the neighbourhood, work hard, and are sincere in their efforts and offers!

Absolutely delicious food. However, Expect a long wait and not super easy to communicate.

Great, inexpensive sushi (and some Vietnamese dishes) with no pretension in a very low-key cafe / shop setting.

Tasty, affordable, and super fresh sushi that is beautifully presented. Very friendly Mom and Pop type place that also sells Japanese groceries. Try the tataki rolls with tataki sauce. :)

First time trying things out. The sashimi was super fresh and the roll was tasty and big. I think I found my new favorite sushi place P:

The worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant in my life, no exaggeration. We ordered takeout at 6:40 PM, and they said it would be 20 minutes. We arrived 40 minutes later and they hadn’t even started making ours. They said it would only be 10 minutes, and we come back 10 minutes later and they are still working on someone else’s order. Mind you this was during curfew in Montreal, so we had 30 minutes to get home. They assured us it would be only another 5 or 10 minutes. We come back, expecting our food to be ready, and it’s still not done. They made us wait until 7:50, at which point I am concerned we won’t make it home in time and will get fined. They rushed our final order and yelled at me for rushing them, even though we were risking a $6000 fine. If they didn’t have time to start our order, they should have said so. We take the sushi home and it’s horribly made. Rushed and falls apart as soon as we pick it up. Half our order was wrong, and was missing items, meaning they overcharged us. I go back the next day to ask for a refund, and they insist they can only refund us for what they overcharged us for. The man seemed irritated and angry that I wanted my money back. He gave me the bare minimum in return, and when I asked for my tip back, he refused and said he couldn’t. I insisted, considering how much they had disrespected and lied to us, and he yelled at me that he would not give it back. I have never written a review before because even my worst experiences had not been worth it. But the people at Tataki made it worth it, because they scammed and disrespected us. Avoid this place like the plague, get sushi literally anywhere else. Horrible customer service, poorly made sushi, and way overpriced.

Nice presentation, and plentiful extras like fruit decorations. Didn't find the fish particularly fresh. Sashimi was still frozen when served. Service was very good, though slow.

The presentation of the food is super cute, but the fish itself was not very fresh. The sashimi was still partially frozen when it arrived at our table. Once it melted, it had a freezer-burn texture. The restaurant itself is also kind of shabby. But the owners/people working there seemed friendly.
