★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our first time trying Ethiopian food and we had a great time! Food was flavourful and portions were great. The owner was very helpful in helping us to decide what to get as some of us were vegetarian. It was a late dinner, so we didn’t have any but we will definitely come back to try the coffee!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything I had was delicious ? it hit the spot the quanta fir fir was amazing ? I am glad I have found an Ethiopian restaurant that offers it on their menu !! Even the house salad had its unique yummy flavours !! The service was outstanding!! The place itself was clean and inviting. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an Ethiopian restaurant to try out or someone who has had Ethiopian food before!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the BEST Ethiopian food, hands down!!! I cannot believe I recognized the cook from Lalibela…honestly, I recognized her food before I saw her and made the connection. She and her husband made the most delicious food before they closed down in New West and since then, I’ve been on the hunt for Doro Wot that even remotely compares. And here we are again, with the best Doro Wot in town!!! Cannot wait to go again!!! On Saturdays they have dancing, so I’m definitely gonna go one of these Saturdays!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I were excited to try Ethiopian cuisine and Tana did not disappoint! Wonderful flavours; the blends of spices are amazing in the array of different dishes to try. Atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Owner, so friendly and even helped us choose dishes to try. Put this place on your “must check out” list!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New favourite restaurant alert! I’m so impressed with Tana Ethiopian. We had the yebeg wot which is lamb chunks simmered in Tana sauce, seasoned with Ethiopian spices and clarified butter. Omg this dish is pure heaven. The veggie combo was brilliant also, miser wot was my favourite but the spinach, cabbage and bean dishes were all 100%. With soft, spongy, tangy injera to scoop up all the deliciousness with.
Great value for how much food you get. Definitely recommend this place. Conveniently located across from famous foods so you can stop in if you’re going for groceries. My previous favourite Ethiopian restaurant in Vancouver was Axum, but Tana might have nudged them out of top spot.
