★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner of this place is absolutely miserable.. customer service and staff shouldn’t be in the service industry as they lack the common sense to keep the personal comments of the patrons to themselves. If you want old, spoiled and low quality food this is the place to go. Wouldn’t be surprised if this place closed down as the jollibee next to it will probably end up taking all its business because this bar is a misleading and a dump.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have loved this cafe/restaurant for over 20 years. It’s the best place to come for a glass of wine and home style focaccia sandwiches with soup, salad and cold pasta salad (the best!) on the side. You won’t get bothered and pressured to leave here, ever. It’s such a hidden gem in Vancouver and every time I go here, it feels like I’m the only one who knows about this iconic Vancouver cafe. I have literally left my home in east van to at 11pm just to come here and not “be seen”. It’s nostalgic, atmospheric and like nothing else in Vancouver. Other Vancouver institutions (long gone) come to mind when I think of Taf’s : Cafe Cucamonga, the Classical Joint, etc). Local art on the walls, great music, that teleports me to Spain, unique environment, space upstairs that feels like a meeting area for Tony Soprano. It’s incredible that it has surpassed the gentrification of downtown, unscathed. It has not changed at all since it’s been here. I love it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My girlfriend and I bought some chicken take out from Jollibee next door.
There was a few empty tables outside of this shop so we put the bag onto one of the tables outside to quickly rearrange our food when one of the staff with an accent came out and and very rudely told us to leave. When I said OK and started grabbing my things, started cursing at us. I can’t believe that somebody like this is in business.

I could not be happier that I stopped here randomly.

Restaurant. It’s not flashy but the food
Was awesome and so affordable which is rare
To find nowadays and the sangria was delicious. If you just want to chill out and hang with friends in a place that isn't pretentious and doesn’t gouge you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's good, but you have to set your expectations right. If you are looking for a chill environment where the servers leave you alone, and the food is priced very well, then this is the place for you.
If you're looking for high-end service with impeccable food, keep looking.
Would come again for the $10 burger and beer. Can't be beat!
