Twice we have gone to Leon's looking for something, and twice we have left disappointed. Both times, Barbie has swooped in & saved the day. The prices are great and the service matches. No one has ever been pushy (maybe they don't work on commission?) and they are always helpful. Today we were told 8-12 weeks for not in stock items at Leon's, and 2-3 weeks if they were in stock (in order to pull it from the warehouse). Our new beds are coming from Surplus this week instead, and we live out of town(something Leon's didn't know). The quality is good (we bought our couch there over a year ago and it still feels new). I will recommend this place to anyone who asks!

This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced in this city. They have a policy of no refunds (not mentioned at time of purchase) so when a couch would not fit through the doorway when they delivered, they refused to reimburse us. The furniture never entered our property. It was not special ordered. It was purchased, delivered, and returned the same day - no chance to incur so much as a β€œrestocking fee”. There was absolutely no mention of this overly strict return policy at the time of purchase. After the return, the assistant manager argued with me (while the store manager looked on silently) that no salesperson would ever explain the details of the return policy unless someone asked about it. If they had a reasonable policy, it would, in fact, not be necessary. He used Covid as an excuse even though the couch was wrapped in plastic, was only handled by their people and never entered the home. His overall approach to any semblance of customer service was atrocious and he tried to tell me we wouldn’t be treated any better anywhere else which is a complete lie. Peterborough is better than this. They insisted they could only permit an in store credit so we were forced to find something under pressure among their very limited stock. It ended up costing more and was not what we wanted. They may have forced us into this purchase but they have also guaranteed that we will never set foot in that store again and we will make sure everyone we know is advised that he takes such pride in his poor customer service. The good reviews have to be fake because this guy took pride in telling me that he had no interest in treating us right.

Do not shops here the employees do not leave you alone to look at there furniture. I felt extremely uncomfortable went in to buy a couch I know they are trying to help but one employee was following us literally breathing down our neck and interrupting and interjecting into our conversation. Very unpleasant shopping experience

Pushy staff!! Was approached by a salesperson before even getting completely in the door. Politely told her we were only looking - (although we were there to specifically look at a bed in their flyer). We walked around for less than 2 minutes and there she was again asking what we were looking for. I said we were fine and would ask for help if needed. Not two minutes later, when we were looking at the bed, she comes over and tries to sell it to us. I said it was cheaply made and I wasn't interested. So as we are leaving I see a nice sectional and we sit down on it...OVER SHE COMES AGAIN and tries to talk me into this friggin couch that we only just sat on. I said "not interested" and she starts in with "well my manager said..." like she was going to offer a discount or something. Even my 10 yr old was like "she never left us alone!" I have done a lot of shopping in commissioned sales environments and NEVER felt so overwhelmed and creeped out. Will NEVER EVER go back.

Great price and service from the time we walked in right through to the guys in the warehouse that loaded the truck. Highly recommend.

The initial visit was pleasant, the person who helped us was very friendly, and would leave us to discuss our thoughts after providing any info we needed. Their delivery was prompt as well; we got our furniture the next day, and the guys were good at working around our awkward entryway. Unfortunately, three of the items wouldn't fit in the room, even though we measured before hand, it didn't end up working out. When we called about returning, and purchasing a different item that would work, we were then told about the strict refund policy...which honestly should be mentioned before purchase, because it's much stricter than other furniture stores (just fyi, they don't generally do returns, unless there's damage, and even then it's store credit with only 30 days to use it....) We had to wait awhile to hear back as to whether they'd do a refund, but they agreed to do one for us. We arranged pick up of unwanted furniture/drop off of the other piece. Fast forward to the day the drivers are supposed to come, and we find out they won't be coming that day, because we need to come in and do the refund first...there was no mention of this during arrangements...we arranged specifically for a day we are home too. Why arrange delivery first, if refund is first? Arrange delivery at time of refund, would make the most sense. It wasn't the worst experience I've had, but the little nuances were aggravating enough that we probably won't purchase anymore larger items from here :( at least the staff is friendly and their delivery time is pretty quick. EDIT: The manager at the store was very helpful and got our pick up/delivery arranged for the day we wanted, they even took care of the fee, which was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you so much to the amazing staff at Surplus furniture store for helping me get a new couch. Product quality is excellent! Service was extremely helpful & Honest. Prices are very affordable. Delivery guys where super friendly They put my couch together (cushions & all) and took the plastic/cardboard with them for there is no clean up for me. I honestly don't understand what the negative reviews are about.. I have nothing had to say about this company.

Selected a couch and loveseat set for our living room, we went back the following day with concerns whether it would fit through our front entrance due to the length of the sofa. The sales staff assured us that the delivery company will get it in that won't be an issue but I still had my doubts. Delivery showed up and the couch would not fit and had to send the set back to the store. The delivery company is a separate entity and we paid them $75 directly for the delivery service, we received a credit for the living room set but Surplus would not reimburse us for the delivery fee even though they reassured us the couch would fit, very disappointing.
