Sunrise Montessori School

My daughter is currently enrolled at Sunrise Montessori within their Casa program and has been at the school since she was a toddler. So far, we are beyond thrilled with the school and the staff members, the principal Ms. Grace as well as the Toddler/Casa room teachers are super accommodating and friendly. My daughter absolutely adores her teachers and is always so excited to go in every morning, as a parent knowing that your child is happy and more importantly safe is always huge factor. The classrooms are very clean and the academic materials are always organized and easily accessible for the students. Being a teacher myself, I know the importance of an effective educator and positive learning environment and how it impacts an individual child's overall development and ability to thrive which is why I am so pleased and impressed with Sunrise Montessori School. This is a wonderful school and highly recommend it to all parents for their children. Thank you, Sunrise!

My daughter has been to Sunrise for over 2 years now, goes to school happy and comes home with stories. Even though the school winter concert is over, she is still singing the songs in the car. In a short period of time, I have seen real positive changes in her learning abilities, level of independence and especially her writing skills. My daughter is happily enrolled in the after-school program, which is a real bonus for both my husband and myself in terms of our timing to pick her after school. During after school hours - Sunrise regroups the children due to reducing ratio and combines the reducing numbers into one or two groups. This is an excellent and logical way for children to blend in a safe classroom environment. My daughter is happy to know new friends from other classes and have so much to tell me. As a parent, watching the joy and happiness of your own child is simply priceless. I am thankful to Sunrise for this. Overall, Sunrise teachers are patient, friendly and courteous and has exceeded my expectations and more. I really sense that the teachers do their best to help. They take care of these children all day long, frankly, that's even harder than my full time job. I recommended Sunrise to 2 office colleagues and their children are currently enrolled as well. They have similar positive comments and all of us are proud to say that Sunrise Montessori is truly invested in our children's future. Hope this helps those who are looking for an excellent Montessori school in Markham. Well runned school. Children thrive, are happy and work at an EXTREMELY high level.

My child loves the school and the teachers very much. I have personally witnessed how the staff are very caring and go the extra mile to take care of the children in class and especially on field trips. The food in Sunrise is not 5 star, but the education my son receives completely trumps the concern of food, unlike what some parents seem to be only superficially concerned about in previous posts. Overall this is a great school. Highly recommended. Keep up the good work Sunrise!

My child is enrolled for the past few years mostly during the pandemic. Overall I am very happy with how the school is handling the pandemic, they adhere to the public health protocol and government recommendations. Principal, Ms Grace, has swiftly handled all our concerns with satisfaction either through phone, email, or in person. I am rating this school 7/10 because there are 3 areas that are not up to my very high standard. If I have to choose again, I will enrol my child in this school again without hesitation. The 3 areas I deducted points are: 1. We adhere to a mostly organic diet at home. We noticed the school does serve non-organic and processed food to children. Although it is not a main concern for us, if given the option I would rather pay more to opt for an organic and processed food free diet for my child. 2. I am paying for a private school rate to enrol my child in a private school. School also has a subsidized daycare option. Nothing wrong with that but it just didn’t give the school an elite experience. 3. Too many PA days. I would rather the school charge us in advance and include the price to the tuition fee. The school does have online calendars and gives reminders, also has a daycare option with an additional charge. I sometimes forget and find myself in situations needing to connect with the school to arrange an additional day of daycare for my child. In conclusion, I am very satisfied with the school because it meets all my basic requirements for my child. The school has provided a safe environment for my child to learn and grow. My child has made friends over the years and learned new skills, like social etiquette, toileting, math, alphabet, and many more. I also love the no bullying event every Friday. I would recommend this school to others.

They give a feeling, if u r an immigrant, they think u know nothing about ur rights and ur kids’ rights, because their speaking English is better than u. But we also have our jobs and make contributions to this country, and this country is proud of its multi cultural and diversity and fair. But this school under Grace I don’t believe it can provide the fair environment for ur kids. So not recommend

My son stared in this school when he was 3 years and my daughter when she was 5 months. Ms Grace, the principal is a wonderful person in whom you can trust in the care of your children, she is always aware of anything that happens and if you have questions or concerns she is always willing to listen. We love the teaching methodology. We are specially grateful with Ms Grace and Ms Mariam (infant teacher). My rating is not 5 because the food is not healthy and they repeat the menu a lot, the children like it a lot but it is not the best for them. However, for my baby they allowed me to send their own food, which made things easier. We leave the school because we leave Markham but we would come back with out doubts.

Our daughter has been attending SMS for over 2 years now. She loves attending the school and his teachers. We are really happy with the progress that my daughter made in learning and character growth as well. SMS managed a great communication channel with parents and this is really helpful during Covid when parents can not go inside and meet the teachers personally. We highly recommend SMS to others.

My daughter start from this school from last September, and last week something happened between their teacher and some kids, so the relative department involved, and last week with my wife we went to school and talked about the thing, and with Ms Grace( principal)we agree to let the the relative department to do their job, and also we decide to put my daughter in their and we paid also. During our conversation we never made complaints to the school and the principal Grace. So this Monday just after March break my wife took my daughter(4 years old) and my little daughter(9 months) to the school as usual, the principal Grace stand in front of them, said gently and firmly we can’t go to her school start from today
