Company Profile:

SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. (SUMMIT) is an Inspection Company based in Calgary, Alberta specializing in “risk based in-service” pressure equipment inspections and “risk based” corrosion management services, as well as above ground storage tank inspection. Formed in 2004, the company’s focus is to provide our clients with the highest level of integrity inspection and the highest quality of service, using the most competent and most qualified NDT examiners and pressure vessel inspectors available.

The company offers a full range of NDT Services, Visual Inspection, Turnaround management services, Inspection Planning, Data Management and provides services for the Oil & Gas Industry, petroleum and petrochemical, pipeline, and power generation across Western Canada, from northeastern British Columbia to southeastern Saskatchewan, with a key focus in Alberta.

SUMMIT has developed expertise in the inspection of both large and small Conventional Upstream Oil and Gas Plants, Unconventional Upstream (SAGD and open pit mining) Oil Production Facilities as well as several major Pipeline Integrity projects.

The Need:

SUMMIT recognized the need for better quality inspection services and competent inspectors and has combined our expertise in NDT and vessel/tank inspection to train and certify our technicians with National Board, API-510/570/571/653, CGSB Level I/II UT/MT/PT, ABSA in-service pressure vessel or in-service boiler and pressure vessel inspector, TSASK pressure equipment inspector class 1 and 2 endorsements. On-going training of our personnel is a mainstay of our company, with all employees working toward the goal of being fully qualified API and/or CGSB inspectors.

Our services are built around assessing our client’s facilities, vessels and components to identify where their significant damage risks may occur. We suggest appropriate “risk based” inspection programs to manage these risks, optimize inspection resources, while at the same time providing valuable summary information that allows for effective response and sound vessel management practices. Our attention to detail and level of reporting quality will reduce the time required cataloging and reviewing the reports. We pride ourselves on usable inspection reports that will save you time and money, as opposed to reports created just to meet minimum regulatory requirements.

Risk based inspection services ultimately save our clients money and facility down-time by allowing them to focus on where their needs really are; across components, vessels and facilities, as well as, providing company-wide statistical information that will allow operators to monitor their assets and implement pro-active vessel management and capital replacement programs. Our effective training ensures that all of our resources are aware of damage mechanisms and their expected locations of manifestation.
