We went for the food only. The bottom line: ask if Ruby is the cook. Then you are golden. Staff: overall friendly and earnest. Day 1, we thought that the fish and chips were the best we have had anywhere. We ordered 5 portions plus a kid meal. We made sure the cook, Ruby, was aware of our appreciation and told the staff that the food was better than a much bigger resort located not to far away. The food was so good we went back the next day. Day 2: Ruby had the day off but we crossed our fingers. Portions were easily half size either in the fries or the fish. We did not leave full. We mentioned this to two of the staff but it did have an immediate effect. 3 stars initially but then the manager stepped in when the bill came in. So 5 stars it is. The building: extra ordinary. Worth a visit. It is practically a museum of local history. The Perth calypso beer is also very good.

Made a reservation for the porch and arrived to find us at a picnic table which is fine if you don't have a bad back and didn't specifically ask for the porch. Food was Swanson tv.dinner quality so all in all not an enjoyable experience.

Great food, great staff, great family, great accommodations and great fishing. After over 30 + years they’re like family. Never considered going anywhere else.

A step back in time just sitting on the front porch enjoying a delicious dinner, served by staff who are genuinely friendly and enjoying their work. This place is a gem you have to find. The garden patio overlooked by the covered porch is worth the trip alone. Enjoy!

Enjoyed a lovely Friday evening on the outdoor patio. From the beautiful flowers and plants that grace the grounds, to the friendly and efficient service, to the delicious food, our visit was wonderful start to finish. Highly recommend this little piece of paradise

Borders being closed during these Covid times, it was nice to be able to enjoy this great Canadian getaway. We slowed down everything and enjoyed the sounds of nature...I'm partial to the call of the loons. After a full day of fishing, we appreciated the calm and serene atmosphere at the lodge; a good selection of meals, plates were plentiful. We were treated well by a friendly and mindful staff. The cabin was clean, cozy and rustic. We pampered ourselves. We will be coming back.

Sorry to have to write this review but our meal was very disappointing and extremely overpriced. I had high hopes after reading the reviews. I ordered the Tilapia and it was plain white fish with dab of pesto, not a lot of flavour, served with over cooked plain white rice and a spoonful of corn (frozen, not even fresh in season vegetable). Bland. My partner got the Shrimp Gnocchi and could not finish it because the sauce was intolerably oily.
