This Starbucks honestly has gone downhill.. I ordered two drinks, one was a venti dark roast and the other was one of the holiday ones but with a request that it was oat milk and no whip and they messed them both up. I had asked them to correct it, they didn’t seem pleased about it, maybe because it was busy? But still.. Anyhow, went back to my office and realize my drink had heavy whip? I’m lactose intolerant :( I even had said no whip or anything on it, please. they also messed up the very simple dark roast twice, don’t even know how that could happen. Anyway, if you’re needing Starbucks in this area just go to bankers or 8th avenue place. A few of my co workers had said the same thing that they’ve gotten completely wrong drinks or just terrible drinks in general. Sigh!

The last time I came to this location I waited 15 minutes for a mobile order which was ready on time just sitting in a bag behind the counter. It wasn't available until I asked for it. Today my food and merch was ready on time but the drink wasn't. So I figured I'd ask like last time, maybe it was sitting behind the counter again. The barista made me feel rude for asking although I'm pretty shy and asked very politely. When it was being made she announced that she was in the process of making it - which as a shy person is an absolute nightmare. I was so embarrassed. I worked as a supervisor at a Starbucks for 3+ years, I know how the early morning barista brain works in a rush. It's tough, I try to empathize. But I found the whole interaction to be very smug and a little rude. When I left I realized they gave me the wrong sandwich too. I would rather just take the L than ask to fix my order.

The Core used to be my favourite location due to the friendly and prompt service as well as the consistency of perfection when it came to my order, however over the past few months I have to say that the quality of this location has declined rapidly. The staff is still as friendly as ever but the amount of mistakes coming from this location is inexcusable. To preface, I am a creature of habit and order the same menu drink daily (with a slight modification of being half sweet with light ice). The app is rarely correct (it will say it’s sold out on the app, but the drink is available when ordered through the counter) so I am unable to use the app to negate wait time, I have brought this up with staff numerous times but it’s never changed. In fairness, this is true of all locations in regards to the ridiculous app issues. The beverage is often made incorrectly (the wrong size given, modifications not followed or made with missing ingredients). I have been given the incorrect food order a couple of times in the past and have pretty much stopped ordering food from this location. Today I ordered a Trenta drink, was told by the cashier that they don’t have Trentas and suggested a Venti, I accepted and then noticed a giant stack of Trenta cups sitting right on the counter behind the Venti cups. The staff has always been apologetic when these instances are brought up and management has placated the situation with gift cards, which is thoughtful and appreciated. I feel guilty even writing this review as the location has even given me a Xmas card as I go so often, but none of these erase the fact that 9/10 there has been a challenge when ordering a basic menu item. I hope that this location can get back to its former glory soon, but until then I will have to move my business to one of the other surrounding locations.

When the barista went to call out my order, I found to my amusement that it was to a Ratmond. Now I have a new name in my friend's contact list. Highlight of the day.

Very poor, waited a long time, there was only three people including myself in the line up. people were coming in after me and getting their drinks. In the end I just gave up and left. I am pretty much done with Starbucks, I find I get much better value at McDonalds for coffee anyway.

I come by here all the time before work, but I think the service has gone downhill. It takes a lot longer to get my order now even when it's not that hectic. Good location, though.

Before i stopped working in down town i would always stop here on my way to work for my morning coffee. (and sometimes back for my lunch coffee) Always prompt service, my drinks are always correct and made correct to order: Staff has always been so incredibly polite, complimenting me on my make up or my ever changing hair colour n nails. When i dropped 20$ in change a staff member helped me pick it all up. My favourite starbucks in calgary. So grateful for the kind staff here. Always brightens my day.

Pros - Convenient location (near the train platform), with multiple plug outlets along the bar seating area. Great for business/people watching. Great for shoppers / grab & go. Cons - Loud, frequently busy and bustling, lineup can be out the door and it gets too crowded when it’s busy. Very tight location with limited seating.
