★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought a guitar online. The price was 30 dollars cheaper than any other online store in Canada.
When received the guitar there was a dent on the back. Complained, they gave me three options: return the guitar, 15% refund or wait until the Ottawa store open to be refunded in cash.
I have taken the second option. Six days later I had to send a new email asking if there was any other person who would be able to solve my problem and then they have responded saying that my refund would be available in 3 working days.
Communication with the store is an issue and sincerely... If I knew there was a dent on my brand new guitar I would prefer to have paid more to have a perfect one. Three seasons why I didn't return it: I really liked the sound, I didn't want to go to the post office and at that time that model was sold out in all the other online stores.
Don't intend to buy from them anymore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I brought in my Fender FR50 resonator in for repairs, and a well deserved tune up.
The inhouse Luthier Scott did a fantastic job removing and replacing 10 frets on the neck and now it plays like a new guitar again. If you need guitar repairs, Scott in your man.
I also purchased a new Fender Redondo acoustic from them. They didn't have the colour I wanted in stock, but the salesman Glen (who knows his inventory like a boss) remembered (of the top of his head), that the Calgary store had that exact guitar in the exact colour I wanted. So I ordered it in.
It arrived 4 days later, it took an extra day for Scott to look it over and give it a good cleaning etc. He even lowered the bridge level to make it play similar to my FR50.
Great service, great prices and most if all, the crew at St.John's Music really does "believe in music" just like their slogan says.
10 outta 10, 5 stars, best music shop ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was there to purchase a digital piano. The salesman went above and beyond what most people in retail do. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain many things to me, everything from features, to differences in models, app use and even advice on how to learn, much more than I encountered at other music stores.
Unfortunately, the model I was looking for wasn't in stock, so I ended up purchasing the model at another store. But moving forward I will definitely be going back based on this experience. Great to see excellent customer service!

Excellent service and fantastic deals and hidden gems to be found at St Johns Music!
