Bad mango? {How many mangoes have you brought home rock hard only to 'ripen' into a brown tasteless fiber?}, a refund is one unquestioned click away. But with this site, your odds go from 50/50 to a 90+ % probability that the produce is the best money can buy and your mango will taste something like the one you remember eating in Acapulco all those years ago. And they are soooo nice.

We started shopping with SPUD.CA a year ago March, with all the restrictions and complications of going to a grocery store, shopping on line with SPUD.CA was our best choice and recommend them to everyone! Became a Member in April & love all the benefits. Fresh and local as possible, saves us travel & delivered right to our door. J & P Brown

Every Order has been perfect except one that was missed (apparently a neighbour stole it before I could get to it :|) but they replaced the order. I love the not having to worry about if my food choices are destroying the earth and the deals are pretty decent too. I usually hate subscriptions (I don't even have a Netflix) but I signed up with spud and order weekly.

The produce is fresh and of high quality lasting longer than the supermarket. The price is reasonably better than supermarket organic prices and the bakery items are scrumptious. Conveniently leaves me more time to do other things than waiting in line or the items sold out.

I'm so glad there's a service that conveniently delivers organic and locally sourced groceries, I'll definitely be using it again. The website is easy to use and frozen or refrigerated items stay fresh in reusable cooling bags that can be returned to the service. Frequent sales make ordering organic produce feel more affordable.

ORIGINAL 2020 REVIEW (SEE BELOW FOR 2021 UPDATE) I signed up for weekly delivery a year ago and cant say enough good stuff about them. Veg and fruit are all organic and everything has a focus on being as local as possible. You can filter by dietary preferences (gluten free, vegan, dairy free etc.) which makes shopping an absolute breeze. The only thing I don't love is that they don't inform you that items are out of stock until your order is packed and on the way. This usually happens with one item every second order or so. Still worth it. JULY 2021 UPDATE: I've been a long-term client and used to really love it. Delivery used to be free, service and selection was great, and they sometimes threw in little gifts that made it easy to overlook whatever it was that caused at least 1 item a week not to make it into my order both pre and post-pandemic. Unstable supply chain? Bad inventory practices? Inaccurate packers? No idea. But I could live with it. Once the pandemic hit and people started signing up in droves, they instated a new $10 monthly subscription fee. If you don't subscribe, it costs $5 or $6 per delivery now. Ok, I get it. Business is tough. I can deal with that too. BUT let me tell you about the new credit card pre-authorizations they've instated this summer. Three words: out. ra. geous. I generally make 1 x $100 order every Friday. I have a standing order. But for the past few months, I've averaged $300 in pending charges from Spud PER WEEK on my credit card balance in addition to the valid $100 order charge. This happens because 1) they submit not one, but TWO pre-auths for each delivery 2) the pre-auths are all equal to "an amount slightly higher than your order total before discounts, to ensure that the card on file is valid" 3) they have also been pre-authing $99.00 for my $9.99 subscription fee once a month. The pre-auth is for TEN TIMES the amount of the actual charge! It's made me a total Karen. And they sit on my credit card for ages. Sometimes over a week. I would say they average about 8 days to clear. It's bananas, and lowkey financial abuse. I tried touching base with them about it to explain how difficult it makes my banking experience, and to ask if maybe they could arrange to do this for just new clients instead of proven responsible adult clients with a long history of successful Spud payments, but they seem to have some credit-card related trauma that's causing them to inflict this excessive proof-of-monetary-life policy on all of their clients. Anyways, they're determined to stick to this new way of charging people, which is the reason I'm giving the service up now, and I wouldn't recommend Spud for both mental and financial health reasons. Their financial practices have caused me to misjudge credit card payment amounts. And regularly seeing an extra $1200 on my credit card over the course of a month has negatively impacted my underlying belief in my ability to sustain myself, even though those charges are never put through. It makes me feel like I'm dancing on the poverty line, and I'm over it. I'm sad to lose them because it's been a really great service for the past years, but they forced me to choose between a manageable daily banking experience and a grocery store. So I've started going to Whole Foods instead for my organic produce, which turns out to be cheaper than ordering Spud. I've been comparing receipts and most things are $1-$2 cheaper there. Who knew I'd ever be able to say Whole Foods SAVES me money? Wild.

I highly recommend SPUD for your grocery delivery. We chose SPUD because they value people over profit and they provide a wonderful customer service. The products are local, fresh, organic and they partner with great local bakeries for extra treats! The meats are well packaged with dry ice keeping them cold until we get home to open our delivery. They provide bins and they use temperature control bags for produce and they re-use it ALL. Give them a try, we especially like the subscription produce boxes.
