This store is different than most grocery stores I've been to.
The store doesn't have many aisles but still finds a way to have everything you need. I didn't get a chance to look at the attached store.
Definitely a good place to get supplies before heading out of town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the easiest place to find what ur looking for. Layout is just off. Lots of expired stuff for sale, make sure you check your labels. Staff is friendly enough. Awsome that it’s ALWAYS open. Great for when you forgot that one thing for the holiday dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s NOT the most glamorous grocery store you will ever visit. But how can anyone give a store which is open 365 days a year with most all of your grocery needs at a relatively fair price anything less than five stars? Skaf’s Food Basics is the current incarnation in a long line of grocery stores which have opened and closed in the Thunder Bay neighbourhood of Current River over the years. I find myself in the checkout line during every major statutory holiday, and have recently been shopping there weekly. Recently Skaf’s closed their dollar/bargain store (which was right next door to the grocery store) and incorporated it into the renovated and expanded Food Basics. No longer do you have to go store to store. In terms of product, they have about the same floor space as a mid sized Shopper’s Drug Mart, but without a post office, pharmacy, or selection of Health and Beauty needs. Skaf’s more than makes up for this with their grocery, frozen food and bakery selection which includes products from both Carol’s Cakes and Roma Bakery. Their selection of dollar store items also rivals that of Dollaramma. I have often thought if you showed up there on Christmas Day, if you would be able to put together the items for a decent Christmas dinner with gifts. I think you would be able to come close to doing it.
