★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best place to find the Asia taste: jack fruit, balut, and lots of spices with vegetable or product from for Asia meal. The owners are very friendly and you may order what you need.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This little shop makes me feel nostalgic for the days I lived in South Korea! It is packed with authentic groceries, key sauces and spices, ingredients and snacks. If you can't find something, ask the staff, 9 times out of 10, they have it. Multiple varieties of kimchi here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If most great businesses in Thunder Bay have had some humble beginnings, Golden Flower Asian Grocery is certainly on the way to greatness. Whether seeking Japanese, Korean Chinese, Thai, or Vietnamese specialty foods, this small store has a surprising variety of products not available anywhere else in the city. As a small store, they have to price on the high side so I wouldn't buy soy sauce there; but pickled mustard greens, fish sauce (3 Crab brand!), chili oil, Korean pepper flakes, tamarind, miso, mirin... Need I go on?
Also on offer are a variety of East Asian snack foods, frozen foods (I have yet to ask what's in the chest freezers), and fresh specialty produce. The staff is friendly, helpful and happy to consider special orders. Don't be afraid to ask, the shelves are quite busy. Definitely a local treasure!
