★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seen a review of this place so when we were in the Edmonton area we stopped by the Shearwood park location and OMG, this place has ruined the average burger for me, we had the double smashed with bacon, I had extra smash sauce added and all the flavors from the perfectly seasoned beef, the toppings and a very nice fresh bun came together in the best burger I've ever had to date, this is gonna be a regular stop from now on when we are in Edmonton, oh not to forget but they also have some really great fries as a side, not just salted and served, no no no, they are seasoned and amazing, it sux that I live 4 hrs away.
Place was clean, nice and pleasant feeling and the service was friendly and fast especially for a place that only cooks the food after order is placed

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Burger was not bad and fries were tasty. It's a bit overpriced for the size. The jalapeño burger was really not any bigger than a quarter pounder but the combo price was close to restaurant burger pricing. So will I come back? Probably not.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went for lunch for the first time at the Emerald Hills location. The smash burger was good.. extremely greasy.. the smash fries were very tasty. The milk shakes are only made with flavouring.. good but bland. I am rating this lower as the cost of the meal was almost $23.00 for one person. Very expensive for what you receive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used to love the burgers but I hate the menu change. It used to feel more like a build your own burger place which I loved but now the menus changed too much. I miss when you could choose your toppings more easily and there was a larger variety of topping options but now they are all the same and there’s no options for ketchup and mustard on line. They always mess my burgers up cause there descriptions of the burgers and what’s on them. I miss the old menu. It sucks good things always change.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my first time trying Smashburger. Unfortunately it wasn’t the greatest experience. I ordered the Calgary burger. It’s supposed to have fried onions which I love, but they came pretty much raw. The burger patty was extremely thin and wasn’t even put together. It all just fell apart. As for flavour, nothing special. I don’t think the patty was even seasoned at all. I feel this place has the potential to be good, maybe today was just a bad day. I’ll give it one more shot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Smashburger is yet another one of those gentrified fast food hamburger restaurants that are really just over priced and over hyped.
I ordered the Calgary burger and to me it was pretty bland, the meat is under seasoned and it was very greasey. The bacon on top was good, it didn't taste like ready crisp bacon that most burger places put on.
Overall I just really don't see the point in places like this, the food is really no better then say Wendys and it's definitely worse then Harvey's. I wouldn't spend the money at Smashburger again.
