★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can start at Rugg Rd, but starting at the parking lot off Blackcomb Way off Silver Star Rd gives you a longer walk along the canal and more history signs about the original canal

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Grey Canal system is amazing. It literally wraps around much of Vernon and can be accessed from numerous locations. The circular section between Silver Star Rd. and Rugg Rd. is my favorite as I prefer loops over out and back trails. This particular section of the Grey Canal has parking at both ends and offers some pretty fantastic views of the city and the surrounding lakes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great trail with little elevation changes and stunning views. This is the "SilverStar" section of the trail but it's actually much larger. It ties in to the BX trail to the waterfall too!
Dogs are allowed on leash. People with well behaved dogs do sometimes let them off leash and no one seems to mind. Note that although dogs are allowed on the Grey Canal trail they are strangely not allowed on the upper BX trail. There is the rare hiker on the BX trail that has taken it apon themselves to police that rule.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great trail system with beautiful views of the valley. Good maps and information boards about the historical use of the area. Awesome for dog walking. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice easy walk, great view. Not many people know, but the trail continues on the other side of the road, across from the parking lot. There are big structures from the canal if you keep going until the end.
