Loved this hike, would do it again in a heart beat! It was a bit tricky to find at first since where you’re supposed to park in the pullout has active logging and the hiking sign we were looking was cut down. Once you continue up the logging road it’s a well marked trail to some incredible views. Definitely like a play ground for adults if you’re up for some climbing up and down and around the lava rocks!

Spectacular views and a lava rock valley. A 2-3 hour hike, highly recommend.

A really nice hike. The valley view was great and the lava spires and bed / field were really cool to see. The trail was confusing right after the rusted old truck and cattle gate. You'll need to do essentially a long left u-turn to stay on the trail and get to the cliff edge. There was lots of flagging tape at that point, so look for the orange and black striped tape (at least in summer 2021).

This is a moderate hike with one very steep section and ongoing technical walk through the rock field. Worth a visit.

Not too hard. Uphill to the rim. Then a bit of cross country relatively flat. The views along the rim are great. Keep walking untill you see the tower rocks. Realy nice hike.

It’s a boring hike up to the top but once you get to the top it’s a beautiful hike the rest of the way, you have a view the entire time you’re hiking once you reach the top then take the trial back down. It was a good hike!

Beautiful hike! The beginning is the bulk of the uphill. I took the left trail at the fork which was the more technical one into the valley and I'd highly reccomend it if you are good at path finding yourself due to there not being a properly flagged trail. Tons of different colored frogs on the rock bed but also a TON of mosquitoes.

The hike itself is not very exciting but the rewarding view from the top and the lava spires make the hike worth while. Scrambling in the old lava field is the highlight in my opinion.
