About Silver Heights Restaurant & The Heights Lounge
Silver Heights Restaurant was slowly transformed from a coffee shop into a lounge and dining room and bar. The adjoining hardware store on the East side became the dining room. In 1964 Tony bought out his three partners and his three sons Jim, Dave and Allan have grown the business.
Jim and his wife Maureen continued growing the business with the help of their four children Donna, Laurie, Tony Jr and J.C.
Today, Tony and his wife Sue along with his brother J.C. operate the restaurant. They have turned it into one of the most popular eateries in the city, and the lounge into a classic neighbourhood bar.
“Everyone knows each other here” said J.C. and that makes for a great congenial atmosphere.
“The best deserve the best, and that is why we only buy and serve the best”, said Tony when talking about his cooking. “We’re known for our barbequed baby back ribs – their tenderness, taste and the way they fall off the bone.” We serve only Certified Angus Beef for all our beef and we only buy fresh ingredients. Everything is homemade!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed. Ordered a steak medium well, the steak is dripping red on the plate. Not sure what the chef was thinking .sent it back. Second try was better. Prime rib was tough, we were on the list for the lounge and were some how forgot drinks and coffee were very good. Will pass on this place. .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ honestly not the best meal I've had here. ordered medium steaks which were undercooked and bloody. subsequently ruined the potato and vegetable. French onion soup was good but not amazing. broth was a little bland. we were pleased with the mushrooms Neptune and the Cabo wabo appetizers.
service was rushed...and not once did anyone ask how our meals were. all for $130.00

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have to give this review only 1 star and I will tell you why. My son ordered prime rib and lobster. He had to ask 4 times for the lobster because it never came with the meal. Then it came when everyone was done eating and it was over cooked. My husbands full rib dinner was cold had to be returned he got a second dinner when we were all finished our meal. I ordered the breaded jumbo prawns and I got the pan seared shrimp which I cannot eat. The waitress made no attempt to fix her error. It was my son’s birthday I wanted a dessert but that was never offered. The waitress never asked to refill our drinks. The waitress also had the bill at our table before we were done eating. After not being out for 6 months this was incredibly disappointing and not worth the $175.00

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to the Heights today for Le Burger Week to try the Achy Brekky Heart and it was SPECTACULAR. The Apple Fritter bun worked so well, adding some amazingly unique flavour. The service is always top notch - I've never had anything but a great time there, and look forward to my next visit. A wonderful family-owned Winnipeg institution!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was absolute perfection I got the Longhorn Steak with rice and vegetables. It was so good I said to my gf that if I had to choose a last meal that would be it. Absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Great meal by far. FANTASTIC will definitely highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a couple of appies, the Memphis ribs and the Dawn Poutine.
Ribs slid nicely off the bone, were tender and had a delicious rub. There was a side of their BBQ sauce, but totally unnecessary. The garlic toast on the side was a little flaccid, but good strong garlic flavour.
The Dawn Poutine had an egg, bacon, cheddar and hollandaise smothered over their thickly cut fries. I was concerned the fries were too big and would just come across as a smothered potato, but they were grilled nicely, and were delicious under all the accoutrements.
Service was a little slow and the portion of the ribs (not the poutine - it was huge) was a little small. Otherwise rock solid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome food, awesome service and the Manhattan was on point! Erica was a great server! If you haven't eaten here? Go eat here. The ribs will are incredible! Steak is always done to perfection (medium rare always ends up medium well ?)
and homemade soups n sauces on everything. Highly recommend!
