★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried a few places and they're never as good as Shumkas. Definitely my favorite Ukrainian restaurant in the city ?
Different flavors of perogies (my favorite is cottage cheese and dill), no weirdo toppings like "buffalo wing sauce" (gross), different cabbage rolls, real kobassa, and SAUERKRAUT. One place in Sherwood Park didn't serve sauerkraut. Shame. Too bad both locations are on the north side. They need to open one on the Southside!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very down to earth place to get Ukrainian food. The meatballs were crave-able, the best thing on the plate. The perogies were also very good. I didn’t think the cabbage rolls or nalysynky were that great unfortunately. I’d definitely go back but wouldn’t make a special trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We pre-order frozen cabbage rolls and pierogis from here here every year for Christmas Eve. They are always amazing and easy to prepare. I have not eaten in yet but I look forward to doing so soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great staff, but literally the most disgusting Ukrainian food place in all of Edmonton. Hard undercooked perogies, hard nalesnyki and cold stale cabbage rolls. Uncle Eds and Yo Baba are much better. Honestly so disgusted by this experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have enjoyed Shumyla many times and it has always been good. The perogies are great and my favourite especially the potato and cheddar cheese ones. The food is tasty and served hot. This is a take location and is was clean and well lit. The service was friendly and courteous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was excited to have Ukrainian food again till I started ordering. I was questioning the prices and the women serving was getting annoyed with me. I finally decided on my order the lady got ruder as my experience went on.
I was charged extra for toppings, and not just a buck or so. And then I was charged the extra for sour cream.
The lady was extremely rude and ignorant.
When I got home to eat. The food was completely bland and tasteless. I will absolutely never go back to Shumka again. I wish the owner didn't work the because I would love get this lady in trouble for her poor customer service!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing staff!! Deana and Sophia were my favorite servers. Very pleasant and fast workers. Although, haven’t seen Sophia in a while… Food was perfectly cooked and tasty! Would recommend to put some Ukrainian paintings in the bathroom walls! Overall great experience and food (:
