★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My boat was damaged when it came out of storage. I spent the whole summer trying to find parts. My boat is 12 years old. Finally I was recommended by a friend to go to Shore Machine. They repaired the damaged aluminum parts and exceeded my expectations and the bill was very reasonable for the expert service I received Thanks to Mike and Roger and the guys. I definitely will recommend your shop and services.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Communication with the shop was not great. It took an e-mail and two phone calls before we could settle on a time to bring the item into the shop for repair. Perhaps that should have been my first warning.
The item I needed repaired was somewhat delicate and needed several new fasteners. Their advice was to weld the fasteners onto the item. They seemed confident in their remedy. I figured they were the experts, so I trusted them to do the repair.
In the shop, the repair looked okay from the outside. Once I got home, I could use my tools to better inspect the repair, and unfortunately, the welds were not done well. They were "blobby" and not really cleaned. The fasteners also appeared to be partially melted (probably from the heat of the welding). I wish they told me that the fasteners could not really be welded instead of going through with it anyway.
When I went to put it all back together, part of one of the welded fasteners came off because it was so brittle from the repair, and that fastener was rendered useless. Hopefully, I will be able to find a better solution on my own.
On the bright side, they did the repair the same day. However, they told me it would be done at a certain time and that they would call me. The promised time came and went without a phone call. I had to call them to see what the status was.
If you are looking for a delicate metal repair in Ottawa, I would suggest looking elsewhere first.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very happy about how these guys could help me out. Saved me a lot of $$$ by not having to buy a new manifold. Two ears were broken off. They welded the corners and machined everything straight again. 5 on 5. Will deal with them again for sure.

They were upfront about the cost and time they thought it would to make the piece. They made the piece and refined it some more to make it fit perfectly. Everyone I met were friendly and helpful. I would definitely go to them again for assistance.
