This is one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. It was hard to find their menu online so we are posting it here. It'll be easier for next time. The service and food is always very good.

An authentic and atmospheric Japanese dining experience. I first went here with a late and dear friend of mine, and we had a truly memorable time. The restaurant is decorated exactly like a traditional Japanese bar and grill, as someone who appreciates Japanese culture as much as I, it felt as though I was teleported to the land of the rising sun itself. The delicious food was all prepared right in front of our eyes, and the drinks came and went with impeccable speed. All in all, if you're looking to enjoy Japanese cuisine in Edmonton, this place is essential.

Wow! An absolute experience! Great service and even better food. I know it's a Japanese restaurant, but that had to have been one of the best, if not best steak that I have ever had! And I'm Albertan, I've had A LOT of steak in my lifetime. Also, if you're a sushi lover, get the Chop Chop cone. It's delicious. And one last thing, it's gets a little bit toasty on the eyebrows of you sit at the cooking table.

Didn't really know what to expect going I to Shogun. Coming into the entrace kind of set the pace and feel. It felt very fancy feeling, and the spacing and ambience of the restaurant was something I really liked. The servers wore little kimonos and the customer service was superb. My group and I felt very well taken care of from ordering all the way up to paying our bills. I ordered one of the set dinners with a little bit of everything and all the dishes apart from the salad (which was alright) were really well executed. My meal started with sashimi which tasted great, had nice texture and mouth feel. It was also at a nice temperature which was very nice. After that came the bento with everything in it was great except, again, for the salad. The beef was nice and medium rare like I asked, the tempura had a good variety but the highlight of the bento had to be the black cod. It melted in your mouth like butter. The cod had a smooth texture and had a subtle flavour akin to white fish. The meal ended with a scoop of ice cream which was a nice palate clenser. Overall a great experience and I would strongly recommend you give it a try!

Tried something new and it turned out great! The food was amazing and so was the service. The food being prepared in front of us was quite the experience, and the chef interacted with us the entire time.

Say it ain't so. Heard that Shogun is closing. Been going here for 22 years and the Beef Tataki is the best I've ever had. I've travelled everywhere around the world and nothing can compare to Edmonton's Shogun Beef Tataki. Go figure. The staff have always been so wonderful and amazing throughout. I've loved this place for a long time and so sad to see it go. Witnessed an old couple in tears here today when they found out its closing. The place is very busy with all the regulars coming back for the last week of Shogun. Going to miss this place. I wish they would retain their staff and chef. Maybe change up and shorten the menu but the people makes this place amazing.

84/100 Bravo Rating! Pros: 1.) Great atmosphere! They really make the restaurant very traditional, in a Japanese setting and I loved that alot! 2.) Awesome customer service!? 3.) Tasty food. 4.) Fantastic Chef, who will prepare your whole dinner right infront of you! ⚑ Cons: 1.) Desert with combo was a little too small. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COSTUMERS = Pay a little extra to get a chef to cook right in front of you. Its 100%worth it especially when they do cool fire ricks! ? MESSAGE TO OWNER: Maybe make it even more traditional and make us sit on the floor and eat. Would be a nice change of pace for your customers to remember. Maybe start off small and have one or two tables that will be like this. And lastly, thank you very much all your employees were great! Ill be back for sure! ⚑
