Alan & Alan did some foundation work at my house. Both were very friendly and answered any questions I had. A lot of manual labour here and they both were still smiling when the job was done! Arrived on time every day and did a good job on clean up when they left each day. Pleasure to work with all contacts I had at Shield Foundation Repair Inc. Quote provided ahead of time was accurate - no surprises when the work was done!

From the first point of contact everyone was nice and knowledgeable. They kept us up to date with the work being done our home. We had water issue in our finished basement. We had to have a drain added and had the side of our house dug up and waterproofed. The team who did it were very nice and professional. Our original quote was met so no added costs. We thank you for fixing our foundation. Def would use you in future if we run into any further issues. ☺️

Shield has just completed a repair to a crack in my foundation. Their crew was on time and did a great job. They kept the area they needed to a minimum and did a great job of cleanup before leaving. Would recommend Shield Foundation repair for anyone needed their services.

I can not thank Shield Foundation Repair enough for making what has been a stressful situation better than I ever could have hoped for. Home ownership is expensive and what I was facing the last few years literally had me about to list my house $40,000 less because of my basement issues. Thankfully, the financial burden I had been facing is considerably less. A few years ago I noticed a musty smell in my basement so I wound up gutting it down to the concrete.I knew my basement had an efflorescence problem because I could see it around the furnace and hot water tank so when the flooring came out it wasn't a surprise. What was a surprise was the amount of moisture I had around the interior of my basement that had obviously been there a while. After seeing the floor I assumed my weeping tile was not working or I simply didn't have any in the house (built in 1971). Anyway I won't say which companies came out but they are supposidly reputable and well advertised in Edmonton. The first estimator said there was either no weeping tile or it was broken down and after a while gave me an estimate of aprx $15,000. He said nothing of the foot of water that was in the inspection box on my floor behind the washing machine that covered the weeping tile back flow preventer; he didn't check it or offer any other advice than to get new weeping tile. The 2nd estimator that came out DIDN'T EVEN KNOW what the hole in my floor that was filled with water was!!! Are you kidding me??? His quote was.."I've never seen that before.." How can you advertise being a basement specialist and NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS?! Last year was horrible; we had so much rain and my basement was wet most of the summer so I decided this was the year to either get it fixed or sell the house minus the cost of the basement renos. A few weeks ago it was 17 degrees for a few days so all the snow melted and within a day my basement looked like the attached pictures; much earlier than last year. I called Shield and Troy came out on April 5th. He was professional, he didn't criticize or ask why I waited 2 years (financial for sure). He looked around and told me he helped a lady last year with an identical problem and then checked the floor inspection box (for the first time I knew what is was; I thought it was a city drain)...anyway he could not get the cover off as it was rusted shut. He told me it was likely the source of my problem but needed to get some different tools in. He then explained how weeping tile works, where the drain is behind my house and how they connect. He also explained that the white line around my basement about a foot off the floor is where the water has been sitting around my house. He said if we get the water issue solved then they can treat the efflorescence; he did tell me it won't stop it but it will slow it down. As well, he advised I get Epcor out to check the main line to ensure there are no issues with it. Neither of the other companies even mentioned calling Epcor to check my main line. The next day Kyle and Tim came out and within 15 minutes after chipping away at the rust with a crow bar I had water flowing; the back flow preventer was rusted shut so the water could not escape. It was as easy as that... It's been 8 days now and I'm happy to say my basement is almost dry. I do have some minor repairs but am over the moon I don't have to replace my weeping tile. I went from wanting to sell my house at a lower price to wanting to stay and enjoy it. When it's fully dry I'll get Shield over to treat the efflorescence and finish my basement without any worries. I can not thank Shield enough for getting this huge financial monkey off my back. I've slept better in the last 8 days than I have in the last 2 years. I would not hesitate to recommend Shield to anyone; they are not simply out to make money...they genuinely want to help people and not line their pockets. It is more than evident they know what they are doing and care about having a good reputation. Thank you is not enough....

Shield Foundation Repair removed about 15 ft of foundation wall and replaced it with a new foundation after a car hit our home. Then they repaired the facing on the outside of the house. The work was professional grade and we're so pleased with the results. We especially loved the carpenters Ray and Matt who built and removed he retaining wall! Great work, guys!

It was an absolute pleasure having the Shield crew (Shelby, Ramsey, Richie & Owen) work on excavation and repairs to our foundation. In spite of the starting day temperature being way below freezing and the ground being solidly frozen, they worked tirelessly to excavate the ground. I was very impressed with how efficient and organized they were in doing the work. In addition, they were very knowledgeable about the process and were able to answer my questions without hesitation, making it a breeze for me to understand the steps involved. I would highly recommend Shield to anyone considering this business to work on their home.

We are extremely pleased with the work that Shield Foundation Repair completed for us. The completed work was finished in 2020 as planned and was executed with excellence and completed on schedule. From the outset, dealings with Shield were handled very professionally and the personal interest of the owners in ensuring that the work was completed as discussed quickly instilled in us even more confidence in the company and their team of professionals. Among other services, they literally strengthened the property foundation and we believe this has increased the potential property resale value and its desirability. We plan to have Shield Foundation Repair do some additional deck work on the property later this year. Todd, Tammy and their team are a pleasure to deal with and we highly recommend the company and the work they do. [This is posted on behalf of a family member who contracted with Shield to complete the restoration and foundation / underpinning work]

Shield goes above and beyond! The entire team is so great to deal with and the work that they do is worth every penny! I can not say enough good things about the work that they did on our foundation when we were getting water in our basement. Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable and took his time explaining and answering any questions we had when we got the quote for the repairs. Derrick and his team did flawless work. There was no mess, everything was stored and organized under our deck during the repairs. When they completed the full job it was as if they were never even here. Kyle was great to deal with, answering all questions and taking the time to explain how the job was done and coming out to our property to do a final inspection to make sure everything was up to their standards. I HIGHLY recommend these guys, they take great pride in their work. If I ever need foundation repairs again I will 100% call them again! Thank you guys!
