Ellisdon Edmonton has a very poor top management team (construction department). They usually fire people who work hard (which is very weird) and who don't fit with their (tricky) group. The top management also has a very poor sight and only listens to people in his circle. There is no policy about how to deal with HR or people problems. Every single problem including HR goes straight to one (contruction) manager, and he gets to decide what to do and how to end the problems. For me it doesn't make sense. Each company has specific department to deal with each area of operations. but with Ellisdon Edmonton, I feel like the power goes to one person and whoever can please him will survive. I also feel like he's afriad of losing his throne. I've personally known a few people who get fired without solid reason and explanation. All of them were fired on spot (by the same top management) provided the same reason "performance issue". The weird thing is that their stories are very similar. They all worked hard and put so much hours and effort into the job. Some of them worked on the weekend and did things that they were not responsible for (for example, coordinator was doing labour job for the whole day becos they don't have enough labours). Interestingly, all of them also don't like to personally please their supervisors (I would say they don't like to "lick a....."). And they ended up getting fired unexpectedly and no sit-down talk or problem discussion. One person told me that at one point he was threaten by his PM that he could easily get rid of anyone who is on his way! When I heard that my heart sunk and i thought if this is a movie or what. And the same stories came across my ears a few times with the same scenario. The problem of Ellisdon Edmonton making business loss every year definitely comes from poor management of the current big people in the company. I wish the headquarter in Tonroto would seriously investigate what's going on with the management in Edmonton.

The previous two comments are not at all reflective of my experience 6 months in, of the EllisDon Edmonton Office. I guess as Suu Mon's post is 4 years old and that management team is long gone there is no need to comment . . . As far as Anonymous N, I came on board about the same time as they posted and I can honestly say their assessment is polar opposite of my first hand experience with the EllisDon team in Edmonton. As a matter of fact I would highly recommend if you are looking for a forward thinking and honest company to work for or to work for you, give EllisDon a call.

Stay Away - Bad Management & Toxic Environment Administrative Manager is all about creating high school drama, gossiping, and setting up the team & employees for failure. They are completely unprofessional and lack leadership and management skill. There is no proper feedback for employees working under them , no communication, no professional development plans, and above all NO RESPECT. They thrive on insulting others and creating rumors to stay on top of things. The only positive thing about working there was that colleagues were supportive and respectful. Also the company have good and generous benefit package.

This company preys on any subtrade in order to cash in. Horrible management, communication and a serious lack of integrity. Cory Raketti and Kevin Brown have no business critiquing the work of actual trades people. These. Guys get paid to tank any of their subs due to their 250 million dollar loss on the LRT.
