About Sherbrook Animal Hospital

Dr. Hirkewal graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Ludhiana, India in 1996. After 10 years of veterinary practice in India, he permanently moved to Canada. Since May 2010, he has been working at Sherbrook Animal Hospital under Dr. Juma’s supervision. Upon completion of his Professional Licensing in Canada, he became the sole owner of Sherbrook Animal Hospital in May 2013.

Dr. Hirkewal loves animals and is dedicated to the veterinary profession. He makes sure to attend as many continuing education events as possible. Dr. H. enjoys both the surgical and medical aspects of being a veterinarian. He has a beautiful wife, Amarjeet who is a teacher, 3 great children and their dog Oscar. He also likes to spend time with his Mom and Dad. Dr. Hirkewal believes in honesty, fairness, integrity and providing the best services.

S	Stephanie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Doctor was very nice and my dogs allergy has been cured ever since we moved to this clinic. Some of the staff was great but there was one that has been very rude to us everytime we go at the clinic and not very approachable when asking question.
D	Dawn Sandison on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought my dog there for the last few years, Feb 8th she went for surgery and that's when they dropped the it's "cancer" removal. Really wish they would have told me that prior. Anyways surgery and spay went well, intense aftercare though as my dog is high anxiety and energetic 11yr old mixed boxer we had to keep her on leash for 2 weeks 24/7 so she didn't rip her sutures ..applied the iodine twice daily and had to have/change her cotton shirts once a day. Vet praised us on how well she was taken care of, her antibiotics were also given twice a day. Fast-forward to today when she's swollen and licking at one of her incision sites and we find they left a stitch in her..which has grown into her and may be Infected now! I'm extremely upset, disappointed and they won't even make room to see her today! So she has to suffer because of them for another day and I expect NOT to be.charged for this appointment or any possible meds she may need due to their negligence Feb 22nd. I will update this after the appointment tomorrow and lets hope for a caring professional outcome.

My cats absolutely adore this vet and the place he comes home extremly happy and excited and thankful. I'm really happy I have found this wonderful place and vet. I really do recommend them not only do animals love them but, they are very affordable depending on what's getting done. Ming ming just loves them. Just found out something new to if you have animals they do Clip there nails to. Now his nails are healthy and my cats happy. Thank you so much.
S	Santo A on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hate to give an animal hospital low ratings, but taking my cat to Sherbrook made me deeply uncomfortable due to the lack of professionalism. My cat is chronically ill so he has recurring issues--my biggest concern is always his diet, and I feed kibble and wet food of specific flavors to avoid upsetting his stomach. When I told the vet I found blood in his stool (twice) he dismissed it as "stress", and kept pushing oral care kibble on me although I already brush my cat's teeth frequently and the ingredients in most oral care food triggers stomach problems. The vet did not want to help me at all with trying a rotational diet or different types of food. The other huge red flag for me was both the staff and vet not being familiar with my cat, in the sense that when I left him for a day-long procedure they didn't know what he was in for. I'm already very protective of my cat due to his chronic illness, and feel incredibly anxious leaving him in the hands of a vet who might do the wrong procedure on him. It's very easy to tell when vets truly care and want to spend time with clients figuring out remedies, vs. vets who just want clients gone as soon as possible. I wanted to keep Sherbrook as my main vet since they're nearby, but for my peace of mind I will have to go somewhere else.
D	Darlene Lyndon on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!! I took my granddaughter cat there for first first shot. VERY VERY pricey...this is the only veterinarian in the Wolseley area that I know. There's no payment ? program. Thanks to other people taken advantage of the program in the past. The cat is not the same since that day. Seems to favor the left side of his body.

My cat is aggressive around other cats or when he smells other cats, and the team there are able to manage him every visit. I’m always told upfront of the costs, and my questions and concerns are responded to in a timely manner. Very friendly team ans trustworthy.

They are super busy but will make sure all your questions are answered. They reduce the stress of an already stressful situation (at least for me). I picked this veterinary clinic because they were the highest rated clinic in my area. I can see why.
