About The S.I.G.N. Foundation
Darren Murphy graduated from the University of Manitoba – College of Pharmacy in 2007. This was after first acquiring a science degree with honors. After graduating Darren began practicing pharmacy in a corporate setting for 8 months before realizing there was so much more he could do for patients with his clinical knowledge and desire to be innovative. Darren seized the opportunity to purchase his first independent pharmacy in May of 2008. Over the next 10 years Darren would open or acquire 10 more pharmacies to total 11 locations. During this time the organization grew from 5 employees to over 150 employees. The need to unite under one brand became apparent and the Northway Pharmacy brand was born in Winnipeg and Darren is the founder and CEO. Special skills include knowledge of business, finance, design and project management as well as the ability to execute innovative pharmacy solutions in the rapidly evolving pharmacy landscape. Readymeds has been an idea for Darren since 2009 and in 2019 the decision to execute was made. Readymeds will provide an accessible, innovative, clinical and convenient pharmacy to everyone regardless of location.
