Selam Regina opened it's doors in July 2003 and is Regina's only gluten-free restaurant serving Ethiopian cuisine. Our mission is to share this exotic cuisine city-wide!
Imagine finger food filled with the wholesome nutrition of a home-cooked meal served in giant platters, and you'll begin to understand what Ethiopian cuisine is all about.
Ethiopian food offers a bold combination of sweet, salty, and sour flavours (spicy optional). There is often an aspect of creativity in each dish where contrasting flavours such as sweet and salty are paired together to create delicious combinations. Ethiopian cuisine has many cultural and traditional recipes handed down for generations, perfected into a combination of dishes.
At Selam Restaurant we serve up classic Ethiopian dishes with herbs and spices that aren't too common these days. You can have it mild or spicy! Our food is available for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.

β β β β β We enjoyed coming here as a family in the before time, and to satisfy our craving, we ordered take-out for an at-home feast. We ordered an assortment of dishes and everything was just as amazing as we remembered. The people here are so friendly and kind, and this is reflected in the food they make.

β β β β β I'm really torn with this place because I have been eating here for many years and I find the food very delicious. However the professionalism and communication leaves a little bit to be desired. when I have gotten the mixed platter with my boyfriend true skip the dishes I never get a call or anything notifying me of substitutions. It is advertised as having five vegetable dishes which would lead you to believe that you can 5 meat dishes however the last three times we have ordered we get only two or three meat dishes which is a complete rip off and does not make sense to me. You can't call it a mixed platter if you're only going to give two or three meat dishes. I honestly don't know if we will order again from this place.

β β β β β My boyfriend and I ordered take out from Selam last night and my GOODNESS was it ever good. Not only did I enjoy my platter, but my boyfriend did too. It was his first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and he loved it! The service was fast and friendly, and most of all it tasted amazing. 100% would recommend. Also it was cheap for so much food!! Love this place... YOU GOTTA EAT HERE!!!

β β β β β I went there for the lunch buffet, excited to find an ethiopian restaurant in Regina.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
I found the food a bit blend. Ethipian food is normally very flavorful, but here it wasn't. It might be hard to get the right spices in Saskatchewan, who knows!
Also it was chilly in there, as if the heat wasn't turned on.

β β β β β Went for a Friday night meal with some friends and was pleasently suprised by the friendliness of the staff and the owner. The food was not only tremendous and delicious but it looked very asthetic and beautiful. All in all an amazing joint for ethnic Ethiopian food

β β β β β Our favourite restaurant in Regina. Delicious flavours, good value and extremely healthy. Very easy to eat here if you are gluten or dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian etc. and also has delicious meat dishes.

I ordered the veggie platter and was surprised at how much food I received - all of it is amazing. Flavourful and luxurious without being heavy, absolutely perfect after a long day of meetings.
