Their food is really good, but the crew are so rude to me and racist towards me and I'm just waiting for my order and they think I ordered Sukiyaki beef with noodles but I ordered Sukiyaki Beef with white rice lol. And not to mention the girl with hat (the girl who is cooking) is talking about me in their cantonese language like calling me stupid or something. Whoever own this japanese fast food please hire someone who have friendly attitude towards customers. People like this will affect your business. I will give you 5 stars if you make an action about this. Thank you

Terrible customer service! They will not make sushi on the spot, only will serve what they have in their fridge. We gave them three chances throughout the year, then gave up on that dream. Our final straw was, getting off work, rushing up to the til at 5:50pm and being told they're closed and we cant order. We just went next door to Thai Express and they were more than happy to serve us as the mall service is supposed to be open until 6.

On Wednesday June 2nd, 2021, my wife and I decided we were craving sushi and wanted to try a new location. As we live in the north end, the closest thing we found was Edo japan in Northgate Mall. Fair enough. My wife looked at the menu and determined that the sushi Easi Platter would be the best choice to satisfy our craving and feed us both. I got off work at 5:00 pm and attended the location and promptly tried to order the item. The male employee who "served" me said they didn't have that item. I had to repeat myself three times to make him understand, to which he still stated they didn't carry the item I was requesting. I asked him why it was on their online menu if they didn't carry. His only response was "I don't know." I texted my wife to ask if she wanted to look at the menu and decide on something else. Since it was supper hour, half a dozen people gathered in line and I recognized I'd be waiting to order for a longer period of time than I had available to get home, so I departed the location. On Thursday June 3rd, 2021, I spoke to my wife during my lunch hour and it was agreed that we would try again but this time we would order sushi bento boxes, since it would allow us to get some sushi rolls, even if they didn't carry the platter we wanted. I ordered two of these items, with shrimp tempura and spring rolls as our respective sides. The male employee placed a plastic bag with napkins and plastic cutlery at one end of the counter, with my prepared bento boxes sitting open on top of a railing above their grill. I was waiting by my bag and the employee told me I could go collect my food. When i asked if he was packing my order, since it was to go, he replied "No." When i approached the bento boxes, I saw the appropriate sides, but instead of sushi rolls, there was a pile of rice with varied ingredients on top. I tried to explain that this was not what I ordered but the male employee kept repeating that those were the sides I ordered. I kept saying that I wasn't referring to the sides and that I wanted sushi rolls, not rice with meat on top. I stepped over and pointed at the menu board and if this isn't icing on the cake... I saw that the Easi Platter I had requested yesterday was listed on their in-store menu. I got angry and realized that both the male and female employee were cooking a substantial amount of food and I would have to wait for a refund. So I left with the unwanted food, since it was already paid for and my family was waiting on supper. I've read a lot of negative reviews about this location here. It's really unfortunate because I've eaten at Edo in Cornwall Centre and the food can be quite good. The Northgate location had the potential to be our new go-to sushi spot, if only a bit more care had been paid to proper customer service. I agree with some of the comments I've read on here, that the owners should make efforts to retain staff who will serve their customers properly.

Edo Japan is so delicious. I love to add sesame seeds and chili hot sauce. The vegetables are crunchy yet perfectly cooked and the Teriyaki sauce is so good.
