I was obliged to select one star before I could post . I rescind that single star, emphatically. Appalling service for one of Canada's major banks! Truly an outrage! There is clearly a total disconnect between Scotia branch level (where customer's funds are normally transferred to and from) and Scotia iTrade. Any benefit in online trading is completely wiped out by their incompetence and indifference. Perhaps expanding their customer service staff personnel to more than 11 overworked individuals might be a positive step? BTW-where in the 3rd world are our calls being routed to? Shame on Scotia iTrade and the incompetent management that oversees the skeleton staff that works there!

This is a Mickey Mouse operation Their customer service is bad, the waiting time on the phone is outrageously long and the agents on the phone are all ROOKIES. I regret signing up with them and you will be too if you sign up with them. Their platforms and profiles are hideous. I really have NOTHING nice to say about this discount online brokerage.I feel bad for the president of this department. Obviously, he doesn't know much on how to run a successful discount brokerage. Best of luck

I have been a BNS customer since I bought my first car in 1957. The banking division has been very competitive in my opinion. But I was there when BNS acquired the Canadian division of E*Trade, 2008. The expertise and responsiveness of their on-call help was instantly refreshing and obvious and it spoke to their previous owners' focus on customer satisfaction and their incredible success. That is gone now with iTrade and the new president and CEO. Many large corporations are unreachable now by email or phone. If that is where you are going iTrade do it!! Don't leave us hanging on the phone. And (Banking as well) get rid of that on-line search for help where NONE of the 50+ suggested answers have even the most remote relationship to the query no matter how it is phrased. For goodness sake try it!!! Does anyone do customer usability testing now??

NEVER ever open account with this company that should be out of business. Scotia Bank is good, but Scotia iTrade is company within a company with non existent customer service, and zero way to get any details, summaries or actions on the account except for hours on hold on phone with no resulte. So much better competition out there.

I put $100 in this account to try it out. Never did use it, and looked online one day and saw $25 had been debited in fees for inactivity. Seriously?! I also had only had the account 3 months (exactly,) and this fee is not supposed to be charged if account is only 3 months old or less. I tried to email to get help. No response. Emailed again. No response. Called, and on hold for exorbitant amount of time. Seriously Scotiabank, are you even reading these reviews? Extremely poor service from Scotiabank as of late. Long wait times. Limited branch hours. Your gong to quickly lose many of your customers if you don't get it together!

Scotia iTRADE doesn’t deserve anyone’s business. Everything will be fine until they actually have to do something for you. They exceeded their own service level time to transfer funds (which is already ridiculously long). When I called into their service line, they have no idea what the status is or when they will actually complete the transfer. Try to get a manager, you have to wait 24-48 hours for a call back. Pras S. was assigned to call me back but never did. When I called him and asked why he had not called back within the 2 days (ridiculous), he said that I wasn’t the only customer iTRADE has. He doesn’t care, refused to give me his direct supervisor’s full name. The leadership must know but not care either- look at their rating. They don’t deserve to be in business, support a company that cares about clients and removes incompetent staff with rotten attitudes. Trust me, you will 100% find this out for yourself if you disregard this review.

I’ve banked with Scotia forever but DO NOT USE ITRADE. They constantly lose forms and documents that you send in, speaking to someone is hours on hold. Talking to a supervisor is a 2-3 week wait. To top it off, the app looks like it was developed in 1999 and who charges 9.99 a transaction these days? Do yourself a favour and invest literally anywhere else.
