The life cycles for the materials recycled at SARCAN all have an interesting story! Aluminum has a closed-loop recycling process, which means that recycled cans turn back into new cans. The beverage you enjoy in a can today could be back on the shelf as a new can in as little as 60 days! 

Plastics are turned into different kinds of recycled plastic products, such as park benches and plastic wood. Plastic flake gets used to create things like fleece jackets and automotive carpeting.

Clear glass gets melted down and turned into little tiny beads that get added into road paint to create reflectivity. On Saskatchewan highways, over five million pounds of recycled glass from SARCAN are put in the white and yellow lines on the road every year!

Coloured glass gets turned into fibre glass insulation. Cartons are turned into recycled paper products, and so much more.

Recently moved to b c and curious why do you make people remove lids when in b.c they want them left on..so why do you not do the same? Why hold up lines for a rediculas rule?

They made people wait outside on a cool and very windy day. The place was dirty and the floors sticky. The person sorting kept saying stay back 6 ft. whenever you tried to empty your bottles on to sorting tray. It was a trying experience. But the wait at the south Sarcan was over an hour and this store was about twenty minutes.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at this location. Today especially an employee had gone above and beyond for me. I had dedicated today to finally bringing bottles in after the birth of our son 6 weeks ago, only to find out the β€œdrop and go” was done for the day. Without hesitation and no explanation needed, this employee had went out of his way to speak to management so I could get my bottles in! Five stars, and thank you again for your help.

Don't wear your brand new kicks here, and it would be nice if they played some gospel music while they work, would really bring life to the place!

Lady was nice but says Regina is toilet, which I agreed with. Left here 30 Yeats ago and still don't know why the hell I moved back.

Walk-in is typically slammed and lined up out the doors at this location. However, the Drop & Go program is phenomenal! Walked straight in, printed my tags, drop my bags/boxes around the back, and I was done within a couple of minutes. No waiting around, no muss, no fuss. Within a day or two received my email that my cheque was ready to be picked up. Again walked straight in, asked for my cheque, and was out the door to carry on with my day one or two minutes later! Totally the way to go!!! Drop & Go can be paid out via (I believe) PayPal or direct deposit to your bank account, but you will lose a bit of your refund to a fee with these methods. However if you pick up your refund on a cheque, you get 100% of it back in your pocket.

The service there is as expected. The staff member doing the counting was quick and efficient. No problems there. But while I was waiting to put my next bag up, a staff member I later found out was named Matt came storming up to me, banged on the plexiglass partition and screamed at me to back up. I was backed up?? How much more could I back up?! He then proceeded to scream at the gentleman at the door who was directing people where to go, for "not doing his *effing* job" I found that so ridiculous and disrespectful for not only myself but the poor staff member who was doing his job just fine. I spoke with the supervisor and the higher up and they both assured me they would speak to him and said he has "Extreme rules" in his mind he expects everyone to follow and likes to think he's a supervisor as well. This location would be better to keep Matt away from customers as it sounded like this isn't the first time he's had a complaint about him from customers. Pandemic or not, other staff and customers should be treated with respect. It's customer service 101.
