About Jishin Martial Arts
Mr. Pickering started training in Shotokan Karate at the age of 12 when he moved to Weyburn from Manitoba. From the very first class, he knew he had found something he could do for the rest of his life. Mr. Pickering received his black belt June 1989 from Master Harold Vilcu. In March of 2013, Mr. Pickering opened Jishin Martial Arts with the help of his wife Christine.
Mr. Pickering currently holds an Apprentice Instructor Rank in Rutano Estokada Kali under Grand Master Gilbert Lafantaisie. Mr. Pickering is training under the Grand Master with the intent to obtain his full instructor certification.

His enthusiasm for the art and zest is contagious and he has proven to be an amazing role model for my two young sons. I'd recommend Jishin Martial Arts club to any one young or old who is curious about the sport of Karate. It's a heck of a good time where all levels are appreciated, respected and met exactly where they are at the moment your welcomed through the door.?

All of the Sensei’s at the dojo are fabulous and do a tremendous job with the students. I would highly recommend Jishin to all my friends!

If your child shows passion, dedication and happiness practicing Karate, Kali, and later on weapons form which are all excellent classes taught by amazing Sensei’s. The classes are all diverse, challenging, and really celebrate your child’s success from the youngest to the oldest kids classes. Sensei Corey and Kaitlyn really work hard to make Jishin a fun, welcoming and wonderful environment to practice and succeed gaining not only technical skills but important attributes like respect, leadership, self confidence, and how to really work well with others as a team.
