Just a warning to others. Despite increasing Covid numbers in the interior, as well as a current horrible forest fire season where we've been asked not to travel into this area, they've refused to give me my deposit back for a trip next week. Very poor business practice and I would beware of booking here.

The perfect getaway with the biggest sandy beach in Osoyoos. Clean rooms, friendly staff and a great property makes it easy to know why some families have returned annually for over 50 years!

What a wonderful place to stay! From the start the welcome was awesome? Great comfy bed, super clean and serious awesome view of the lake and amazing sunset! This was a highlight to sit on the beach with an ice cold beverage and watch the sun go down was so relaxing? We meet the super sweet owners and thank you kindly for welcoming us too! Will be back for sure!

The rooms were immaculate cleanest resort or hotel I have ever stayed in. The beach was great and right down from our room. Had a problem with the booking clerk who changed the booking to suit her and lost my hotel . Com free night but overall the price was appropriate for the suite. . J

Beautiful lakeside location with everything you need to have a perfect stay! The rooms are well laid out, comfortable, and the kitchen is nicely stocked with everything you need to cook at home. I especially appreciated the carts for transporting luggage from the car to the room, as well as the bbq's, and all of the flowers and plants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! I highly recommend Sandy Beach Suites and I will definitely stay here again whenever I am in town!

First time booking with this vacation rental/motel hoping the test experience will lure me back....but... Despite its great location close to the water/beach, a few things tainted my experience to be less than ideal: - The hotel website made it explicit that "From May to September, we provide activity area’s and equipment to keep guest’s busy at no additional costs!". Kayaking is also listed as Property Amenities in hotels.com. The day before check-in, I called to inquire about it and their response is they have not hired the beach staff for making water equipment available (until May long weekend, which we are 1 week short); I got the same answer at check-in. I mentioned that I chose this hotel over others largely based on this amenity and have accounted this in the higher price compared to other options in the area. They did not offer anything for their false advertising. Later I reached out to the hotels.com to raise about the discrepancy and was able to get some compensation back. I had a subsequent conversation with the hotel staff later - when she expressed "disappointment" in my action, and how I already got discount at booking (an early bird discount coz I booked months ahead, at the time many others are offering similar incentive), and if I want it cheap, I can book through them directly. She also stated how that was a free amenity suggesting that it's bonus that they have no obligations to provide. I was still staying at hotel so I did not make a big fuss about that conversation to further damage the relationship. That conversation left me feeling unjustified because I'd rather be able to enjoy the amenities than to get that discount. I think the hotel have a responsibility to give a correct representation of what they can provide so consumers can make an informed choice between options in the area. I am actually glad that I went through hotels.com to book (kudos for their customer service; the wait was unexpected short; although unlike airBnB, hotels.com did not have a FAQ suggesting that customers have a right to report amenities discrepancies); albeit the slightly higher price from commission they charge, the 3rd party agency were able to step in to moderate issues like this. (and I do hope for guests who checked in on/after May long weekend, that they actually got to enjoy the advertised amenities) - The bed is a little hard to be comfortable but can be a personal preference thing - Blinds tilting control broken so we had to wake up with the sun (in May, that is 5,6amish). - Not a deal breaker at the time but the A/C was REALLY loud - basically it is not usable, we open windows and used fan instead. @room 121; last two issues were raised to front desk - hope they will address ahead of the summer season. Rm 121 is at the top level between two other bigger units. It's worthwhile to note that the adjoining patio is not private and people can walk the full length (meaning you can see people out from your room's window, and they can see you). Our friendly neighbour had a dog so once in a while I'd see him walking in front of my window fetching his dog / his dog's stuff. The dog's cuteness made up for the somewhat weird set-up (they were eyelets at the patio wall between units suggesting that maybe at one point there were dividers). Also if you happen to be placed at the top middle units, note also only the two corner units are covered to protect from rain/bird poop. The pros: - Nice arc shape buildings orientation meaning many rooms have some water views - You'll have to do your own garbage / recycling but the facilities are nicely organized - A few BBQs throughout (other locations everybody needs to share one meaning at rush hour there maybe a wait) We go to the south Okanagan region often because of the nearby race track and am hoping to find trusty locations we can go back to. Frankly, I feel torn about giving it a second chance as the general area does have many good things going on...
