β β β β β Riad is the best barber I've ever had. A craftsman that takes pride in his work. I've been going to Riad since I stopped in for a quick cut a few years ago and haven't been anywhere else since. no one else compares. Keep up the good work my friend!

β β β β β Terrible experience. Waited outside in the cold for 17mins @1:30pm. (There's a sign saying that he'll be back in 10mins)
Then he finally opens. Walked in, took of my jacket, ready and seated in the hair-cutting-chair. He noticed that my hair was longer than average male. Note, that it's far from long enough to tie up to ponytail.
And he said that he has to charge me $40 due to the hair length. At this point I was already seated and ready then he decided to Jack up the price!! It was super awkward!! I didn't expect that whatsoever. And all I wanted was to cut the sides only so I could just tie up the top. But he refused to low it down no matter what.
I don't like bringing racial talk on the table but I felt very Uncomfortable at that time because he didn't act professional and was short with his speech, maybe because I'm a foreigner?
So then I left looking like an idiot. I was hoping that this place could be my regular barber but after this, I can not recommend this place. Choose elsewhere, a place that doesn't change their price depending on how they feel.

β β β β β He charged me more because of the kind of hair I have (more curly), even though the last time I went there it was $10 less for the same see. Also left one side of my hair noticeably longer than the other side.
Really awkward experience, I've never left a bad review for a haircut before but felt obligated to do so this time.

β β β β β If you're looking for an honest haircut, this is the place. With old-school values and an attentive barber, you'll feel well taken care of at this place. I have been here a few times and have always left with a great haircut.
Bring a photo of what you're looking for and nothing more will need to be said. Great work with both clippers and scissors (I don't think they ever touched my hair with their fingers directly), and the straight-razor edging at the end was the icing on the cake!
Also, conversations are great (if you want them).

β β β β β Riad is simply the best. I have been a long time customer in Bloor West, and he is great. Occasionally you may wait for a bit, but once it is your turn you will be happy you waited. He never rushes a cut and won't finish until you're hair is perfect. The best place! FYI this is his new location, it used to be across the street.
