F	Finch E on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The good: Free parking, good selection of meats, cheese, and veggies, staff are kind, the pharmacy staff are knowledgeable and take the time to answer my questions. The bad: Can't remember a time the store wasn't chronically understaffed, there are very few shelf items for ethnic or otherwise non-western recepies, and the markup on prices are painfully steep.

C	Chuan Chee on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Safeway is conveniently located at Broadview and MacDonald with a big shaded 2-hour free parking lot. It is quite large with every department that you can think of. This the first time I'm there and sometimes I was lost. The sales very very good. There are self-serve check outs too. Remember to use your Airmiles card to collect points. There is free WiFi. The pharmacy opens until 9pm but there is only a small section of products on the shelves.
A	Ava Hall on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This recently renovated, spacious, colourful store is absolutely lovely. I wouldn't usually rave about a grocery store, but this place is lovely. They have what you'll need, and you'll be able to find it easily. It was recently renovated, so it's even easier to find things now with even bigger aisles and islands. There's a fairly large cosmetics section, and a seafood area! Letting your kids watch the lobster tank while you do your shopping is basically free babysitting:) It's a great store, I recommend!
M	Michael Moriarity on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Safeway on Broadway near Macdonald Street has free parking for a two hour period which allows a good amount of time to finish your grocery shopping... my experience with any staff I meet is very positive as they have the same goal as I do, finding me quality products at a very reasonable price..the Covid-19 structures for the store is very positive and meant to protect all participants..good prices and quality of products are available here..

My biggest complaints in no particular order: The Mexican section is too small for a store this size. There was literally no powdered sugar one time when I needed it. The tofutti sour cream is not kept with the dairy sour cream, but the non-dairy yogurt is kept with the dairy yogurt (inconsistent). And there are two cometely different areas where one can find grated cheese. My favorite things: The nut and dried fruit section, the natural ingredient products section, the wide variety of fresh herbs, and the generous selection of naan. It would be great if you carried garnet sweet potatoes!
M	Mehr Poulad on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a large, clean and modern Safeway. Located just on the corner of Broadway and MacDonald Street. There is free 2 hour parking, lots of stalls. The grocery store itself appears renovated, there was a line to get in a covid precautions were present but a mask is not mandatory yet. The aisles and shelves are well organized, the store itself is well lit and welcoming with lots of departments, bakery, deli, pharmacy, warm prepared foods and cold meals for purchase. Lots of cashiers and. It a long line at the till. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t overly busy. The line outside moved within 5 minutes even though there were 10-15 people on front of us. Prices are especially good when items are on sale.

Within the past month, we bought a ham that was expired by 3 weeks and a package of bagels for which the packaging had been ripped and several of the bagels inside had seemingly been nibbled by a rodent. If either of these incidents had been a one-off it could easily have been overlooked, but together with other more minor oversights (e.g., cut flowers are often not held in water) demonstrate a pattern of lack of attention to detail. The staff are always friendly and the store generally clean, but these are critical oversights that affect the quality of the products on offer and the health of customers.
