SA Meat Shops is a family enterprise that was founded in late 2003, by a South African that identified an opportunity to cater to fellow South Africans who had chosen Calgary as their home.
A business was established that not only provided the much-loved produce, like biltong and boerewors, which are an integral part of South African culture, but he also provided a place for South Africans to gather and feel a sense of community.
Over the years, not only have South Africans appreciated having a store to frequent, but Canadians have embraced the opportunity to experience South African cuisine too.
SA Meat Shops has become a brand that brings comfort to new South Africans and that provides a unique cultural experience for Canadians that are willing to explore new tastes and flavours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great for nostalgic top ups of boewors and biltong. Over the years, the smiles on the staff have whined and the service along with it. But if you can't find a decent boewors anywhere else, come here. The biltong is still very good, so be sure to try it.

SA Meats had great ratings and decided to check them out to see what my brother was talking about. The Droëwors and Biltong are amazing, their meat pies looked and smelled great too, I'll have to try them next time, yes there is definitely a next time.

So many choices here for meat eaters ! Best steaks in Calgary. Service also great, we got samples in store as we weren't familiar with all the South African varieties.
